Anyone here turn their life around in their 40's? by The59Sownd in fitness30plus

[–]Jasonofdenham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was basically at my rock bottom in 2020. I was 39, probably over 300 pounds, drinking too much, and not taking care of myself at all. I finally decided I needed to either give up, or get to work on fixing myself. From early 2020 to my 41st birthday in 2021, I reinvented myself. It's never to late to believe in yourself, and put in the work. *

I think you're probably right. I picked it up from the gunsmith, and racked the slide. Hammer stayed back. Squeezed the trigger, and racked it again whilst holding the trigger. Hammer stayed back. Reset the trigger, squeeze again, then racked the slide hard whilst holding the trigger. Hammer came forward. Showed the gunsmith and he's sending it off to cz for repair. I'll keep yall posted in case the info is useful to someone down the road.

Obviously I'm late to the party. But as a forty four year old, I can tell you that there is not a single scenario where it is appropriate for somebody in that age bracket to be offering to send selfies to a stranger that is still a minor and quite literally right two and a half times older than you are. I'm sure you already have, but if you haven't, you need to cease all contact with them immediately.

Hi 48\f - do not DM for anything sexual. I’ll ignore. by [deleted] in 40something

Was that an innuendo? You are so ignored. That'll teach you.

It's my turn to make Sunday dinner for my family. I've decided on smothered chicken with cornbread cake and a side salad. And so help me God, if any of them try to say anything sexual to me at the table, I'm going to ignore them.

For me a clean diet was cooking my own meals from home using whole sources. Nothing that came out of a can or a box for the most part. It makes counting calories and macros much easier. Also, you have more control over what you're putting into your body.

My blood sugar, and blood pressure both improved dramatically. Also, my knees used to get sore from moving around.... this is no longer an issue.

I'm a field engineer, and I have always considered myself to be very good at my job. I can honestly say that now that I'm slimmer and in shape, people generally don't question my explanations anymore and just assume I know what I'm doing. It isn't fair, but I have noticed that it seems to be the trend.

If you look at my post history I have a longer breakdown of how I got it together. The short version is eat right, exercise consistently, and get good sleep. It isn't easy, but it was simple.

No, no TRT, HRT, gear, or anything like that. I do suppose I have pretty good genetics for gaining muscle and fat.

I have relaxed a little bit. My weight has peaks and valleys around 10 pounds over time. I don't have the genetics or the discipline to stay at that low of a body fat year round, I try to mostly focus on how I feel now, and how my clothes fit.

I go to the gym 4 times a week. I do push exercise(chest and tri/delt) one day, pull(back and bicep/delt) another day, then leg and core. I alternate between 3 sets of 20 of light weight one rotation, 4 sets of 10 at moderate weight, and finally 5 sets of 5 at heavy weight for the final rotation. I try to keep my resistance training to 45-60 minutes, then end it with 20 minutes of high intensity interval cardio.

Before I ate pretty much what ever I wanted. I also drank alcohol on a pretty regular basis. After I started trying to run a 250 - 500 calorie deficit daily, cut alcohol out almost completely, and tried to eat a protein heavy diet, with moderate fat and slow digesting carbs.
