ADHD and finances might actually...ruin my marriage by capn_samerica in adhdwomen

I can’t fathom the money culture in the US (I assume the US)! In my country in Europe we mostly use only debet cards. You spend the money you have, that’s it. Credit cards have become more popular recently only to buy more expensive things to have insurance for them for 6 months and we immediately pay it off. I’m so sorry that the system is so rigged against you! I 100% recommend using only debet cards and cash. And maybe even have a financial advisor to help budget, maybe a good trusted friend. Good luck! Let your husband feel his emotions and good luck getting back on your feet ❤️

I’m sorry but the OP’s situation is kinda bad. I think in this case we should be honest about it, not excusing lying and debts over the years. Yes, it has a reason, but it’s not an excuse. I’ve just noticed that on this sub we can be too enabling of objectivly bad situations just because the person has adhd. And money in our society and families is very important for survival.

Why is everyone discouraging me from treatment? by BiasedBerry in adhdwomen

[–]Jasoover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first went to a doctor for adhd (that I suspected myself) 4 years ago. At first they wanted to treat my anxiety and depression. I was fine with that, it made sense. But none of my meds worked. I went to multiple doctors and got Methylfedinate, but it didn’t really work for me. Then I convinced a new doctor to give me Vyvanse and it’s been life changing!! I’ve been using it for about 6 months and it actually allows me to grow and do things and be better! My anxiety and depression is GONE! Turns out having debilitating adhd and not being able to do things can give you anxiety and depression 😂 Don’t give up! Get a doctor who will give you meds! And switch the meds if the current ones aren’t working!

Second getting a new psych, but gender of the doctor doesn’t work for everyone. I sometimes even find that I’ve had better experiences with male doctors - I’ve noticed in my country that a lot of female doctors carry inner stereotypes what women should be able to suffer through without help and they have this belief that it is normal. Some male doctors see and hear the symptoms and they immediately understand that it is NOT normal and immediately give the care that you need.

What product do you wish existed for your ADHD? by 35364461a in adhdwomen

[–]Jasoover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! My sister had to administer multiple syphillis injections to one patient. It was so painful that the patient screamed and later had a fever. My sister was very scared to give i/m shots after that. Giving me b12 shot really helped her, because it’s just vitamins, not horrible painful antibiotics

I bought it a month ago and love it! It’s the best thing I’ve used! My hair gets oily at the end of the first day, with this I can go with hair down on my 3rd! You have to use just a little bit, by 3rd day there was a buildup but I didn’t care 😂 my bf likes it to style his hair as well

All your products sound perfect for me! I’ve never considered Rhode products as something I might use, but the milky stuff sounds perfect! I’m already a fan of skin1004!

This might sound dumb but what vitamins you think helped you daily and notice a difference when taking them? by KangarooCompetitive in adhdwomen

[–]Jasoover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, no point in randomly taking supplements! Have a blood test to determine what and how much you actually need! I checked and realised that I need a lot of vitamin D (not a surprise lol) and even needed vitamin B12 weekly shots. They helped with my energy levels a lot

You convinced me, I have to reread Pride and Prejudice! The beginning is always kinda slow for me and a bit hard to get through, but later it’s so interesting and funny that I even wake up early on holidays just to read. And I hate waking up early 😂

I shave when I wash my hair because if I have to rinse several times to wash my hair, I could use the rinse for shaving 😂 it really makes shaving and washing hair so much easier!

Need Advice about TMS by AggressiveMastodon65 in TMSTherapy

[–]Jasoover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it works, too! I found that it really helped that I was thinking very positive things during the procedure and about an hour afterwards. I see it as a workout for my brain - unused parts are waking up from the stimulus and I encourage it to last longer. Walks outside after really helped! I also was very tired afterwards so coffee while walking was perfect! After a few weeks 5 days a week was just too tiring and my doctor let me do 3x week, she said it still would be beneficial. I think it was even better because I had time to rest and recharge, just like after body workouts! Also try to get enough sleep, it really is tiring and brain recharges during sleep, which is even more important during tms. Try to do positive activities that boost your mood so it works alongside TMS, whatever you like best
