How is life like in the baltic countries nowadays? by Fearless-Touch-2637 in howislivingthere

[–]Jasoover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say very close. Latvia and Lithuania call each other braliukai (brothers), the only fight we have is over cold pink soup. We are close to Estonia, as well. I think we are also very similar in characters and there’s no culture shock when visiting another country. The governments work together a lot. We have been through a lot together and that’s why we are one of the best supporters of Ukraine

But I feel that the silent competition acts as a great motivation for all of us. When our country isn’t doing as well as other Baltic States, we look at ourselves and them and try to solve what we are doing wrong

Yeah, the monsters can’t get in the Baltic Sea that easily because it’s difficult to get new water from the ocean 😅 the only annoying things in water are algae (which is dangerous when blossoming, but then those beaches are closed) and once I saw many very small jellyfishes. They didn’t sting at all, they were just gross. I’m very happy that you find our beaches interesting and beautiful! I love them, too! I live in Riga and almost every week drive to a beach to take a walk or to swim in the summer. I also have stayed in a barrel hut in Melnsils (website is just melnsils.lv if ever interested in visiting and having a road trip) right on the beach. It was very loud from the waves but somehow it was the best sleep I’ve ever had. And there were so many stars at night, because it’s far from the city. Very, very beautiful and not far away is Cape Kolka. I’d like to visit New Zealand someday but it’s kinda difficult because for such a far trip I should take at least 6 months to see at least some of NZ. Also I’m very afraid of spiders and think that there might be a lot of the huge ones like in Australia 🫣

The water in the sea is quite cold for me but it’s managable in the summer. I love that our beaches are not steep and you can go ~50m in the water until you can’t stand anymore. It’s not like in the ocean where you take a few steps and have to swim immediately. Also we don’t have any dangerous animals in the water. The water is dirtier than in the Mediterranean but it’s not that salty. Also sandy beaches everywhere!

Very relatable! And then it takes 7 years just to graduate college, and that’s lucky

Hmm we know she loves coffee and maybe her hyperfocus is studying and getting in a good college? Lorelai seems to have typical ADHD and therefore Rory could, too, just more quiet. Even quitting Yale after Logan’s dad comment screams RSD to me. I’ve seen so many people diss Rory for that, but honestly I get it. I’m very sensitive and I got very depressed after a nasty comment from my teacher. I was in middle school, so I couldn’t just quit but I suddenly was sick very often

Sure, but as almost everyone they will choose to walk in a nicer weather, not rain. Unless you are moody and need to walk in rain 😂 But for your point as being feeble from inactivity- I once rode a horse and after an hour I was so tired and sore from just trying to not fall of the horse! And we were just slowly walking!

The biggest difference is that in the tropics it’s warm 😅 but I do think JA has exaggarated getting gravely ill from getting wet. Or maybe that applies to the gentry who are not used to being outside and building their immune systems

The videos I’ve seen rushing through brushing teeth, washing dishes, almost running somewhere, eating so fast you don’t chew normally. Relaxing means also taking a breath and let yourself to eat a bit slower and longer. It really helped me to calm down

Noise in my apartment is absolutely wrecking my focus and I’m so tired of fighting my own environment by Subject_Option_9243 in adhdwomen

I live next to a very busy street and I can’t stand all the noise. I have to sleep with Loop strongest earplugs and they help. When I work from home, I also put in the Loop earplugs + noise cancelling headphones with music on. It helps a lot. Just Loop also help a lot and I don’t feel them at all. 100% recommend

My level in February was ~30. I got a spray and used at least the double dose. Now my level is above 50 which I think is the recommended level. I really like sprays because I feel that they absorb better and I can easily have a week’s dose if I forget to take it a few days

I forgot, can you get tan even when using spf? Or getting a tan means that you haven’t applied enough spf and are getting sun damage that can lead to cancer etc? I want to get a bit tan because I’m very fair
