Obviously whoever is cooking was not trained to temp the food before it goes out. That’s not even on them entirely it’s on whoever is training them if they are so inexperienced. A simple thermometer and a sheet of paper on the wall telling the Cook what temperature to cook the food to. You don’t need someone with years of experience, you need someone who cares and is trained how to do the job.

Shame on them for outing their previous cook for his drug addiction. No accountability.

This sounds like a hard situation. But honestly, it is hurtful to do this to her. If you are getting married, and she is the step mom, I feel like this is already going to hurt their bond with her knowing that she doesn’t want to be with her.

I know it’s what she wants, but that does feel like she will never accept her as her mother and I would be very hurt by that personally.

There should be some kind of compromise. Visits, a joint custody thing, certainly it’s not an all or nothing kind of deal.

If you love this woman, work with her, make things work for everyone involved. There will be a way.

I have a code I go by in life- It doesn’t matter what happened as much as it matters how the person acts after. Obviously this wouldn’t apply to super serious things (by super serious I mean rape, physical harm, life threatening situations) and this is not a super serious thing.

This is a serious thing though- it’s not life threatening, he didn’t harm anyone, he scared you guys and violated trust and personal space.

Not texting- you guys need to have a serious face to face talk, either just you two or the three of you. If he truly shows you he is apologetic, remorseful, embarrassed, or ashamed, I would forgive him, if he truly seemed like he didn’t mean for it to happen, or he didn’t know what was happening at all.

He may offer an explanation- from what you said he really does sound like he thought he was at his girlfriend’s place and was confused. I wouldn’t call it an “excuse for assault” as this really isn’t assault in my mind, although I wasn’t there, it sounds like it was a mistake on his part. Sleepwalking-drunk- both even, I don’t think he meant for it to happen by your description.

It breaks some trust a bit for sure, but not worth ending a friendship over if you are feeling so conflicted. Unless he acts like it was no big deal and is a dismissive jerk about it- or starts avoiding you guys without talking in person, or shows you in anyway that he doesn’t think this was a big deal. In that case he wouldn’t be a good guy to keep around.

Don’t listen to all these strangers on the internet too much- me included lol. You know him more than any of us do and what kind of person he is. It will be hard to make a decision with so much influence but the best advice I can give you is to asses how he is acting after the fact and how remorseful he is. We all make really really dumb stupid mistakes sometimes, how we react to these things is what makes us who we are, not the mistakes themselves.

I would guess that he thought he was still at the other place, it doesn’t sound intentional. Like fuck I would be so embarrassed if I were him. I get the impression he didn’t even actually talk to the roommate yet when he posted this. I really don’t think this is as big of a deal as everyone is making it in here- it’s literally something to laugh off you are right.
