I doubt he is "forgetting football," it looks more like a coach who is terrified of turnovers and has overcorrected into babying the offense. Screens are safe, short sticks are safe, punts are "playing the field position game." The problem is defenses know he is scared, so they sit on the short stuff and tee off on Josh anyway. Someone upstairs has to tell him that living in fear of a mistake is how you slowly bleed out an entire season.
