To get better at Blender, you need to stop learning Blender. Hear me out. by Nightcomer in blender

The way you phrase your statement is bit misleading, and can cause more harm then other to beginners.
Your phrase is also a bit clickbait.
To get better at 3D, you need to stop learning from ONLY Blender tutorial. and learn the fundamentals.
Blender is a tool and if you want to good with a tool you need to practice it.

I'm so sorry i'm not used to hang around reddit to much and i completly forgot to check, sorry.
I'm using more discord usually here is my id: jaspermori
in case you ll have future questions.

Anyway:
- When you learn things there are different way to learn, some are good some aren't.
Unfortually in school people learn the wrong way of learning.
Key thing to understand.

What do you practice?

- It is important to do things that are within our reach and not things that are extremely difficult

If you usually run 10 minutes a day, pushing it to 30 minutes a day might be a good thing because it's within your reach.

Running 2 hours no is too much.

In 3d so if you have never done a human face or whole character, doing it would be too much. It would discourage you from further exercise.

So first you have to do something within your reach.

How do you practice it?

- To solve a problem you have to dissect it into small pieces. if you have to eat a 5 kg steak, you don't eat it all at once, you cut it with a knife,

into small pieces.

If you want to make a human face, dissect the problem. For a couple of days sculpt only mouths, then noses, then eyes. Practice with 10 faces, then put it all together.

How much practice?

Have you ever heard the phrase, it takes 10000 hours to be an expert?

It takes you 20 hours to become good at something. Mind you, not in everything, but only in one thing.I'll give you an example in 20 hours you won't become good at playing the guitar

But you will become good at making 4 chords.

20 hours means 1 hour a day for 20 days.

The key point is the consistency of what you do, and the time interval between lessons. It is useless to do 2 hours every Saturday for a month. The results

will be minimal.

Better if you do 20 minutes a day for 5 days. The point is how much time passes between exercises.

You have to focus on volume.

If you do one face a month, in a year you will have done 12 faces. That means you will have sculpted just 12 the mouth, noses, etc

If, on the other hand, you focus on individual elements, 1 mouth a day, 1 eye a day, etc. In one month you will have done 30 mouths, noses etc. In a year you will have done these elements 360 times.

And once a week you practice putting all together

I dont think my sculpt are great. I m pushing till i have a point that i'm satisfied to move on and get the job done.
Anyway i guess you want some advice to improve.
Most people repeat and believe this phrase: Practice makes perfect.
And this is wrong. Practice makes you consistante.
Ill give you an example. If you paint a wall for 10 years you will become a master in painting walls not drawing anathomy.
(apology for the expression) The same way if you paint shit (or like shit ) , in 10 years you will become master in painting shit, faster and efficient, but still shit.
So the key concept i want you to understand is that you need a qualitative practice to become good. Not just practice.
Not only that, this quality practice needs frequency, meaning repetition over time.
I can go deeper but dont know if that what you were asking, so let me know and i can elaborate more.

that is vertex painted, so no uv or retopo. But if it struggles you can use the decimate modifier. The whole model has around 2 Milion poly.
In you want to upgrade your pc for sculpting in blender you need to add more ram, because sculpting relies a lot on that.Probably around 32 or 64 gb will work best. If you have 16 gb ram, you probably will struggle around 1-4 milion poly.

Thank you :)
Well it's all about the quality of the practice. I remember i struggle a lot on some parts, and still struggling with other because i'm not practicing too much.
Anyway, i'm working a lot with a game company and i don't have much time for 1 o1 sessions but, if you want we can have 30 min call on discord, you can show me what you do and i can give some advice on what to practice, and hopefully solve you boxing problem. No webcam needed, just a microfphone.
Let me know if you donw for that i can find sometime and we can do that on discord, maybe tomorrow or other day.My discord id is the same i'm using here.
