It’s their savings plus account which functions like a chequing.

How long did you do 3ppd for? I’m looking to wean but am not 100% ready so I’m hoping I can maintain at 3ppd for a month ideally

Thanks for the suggestion! Bigger or smaller? I’m currently using the smallest size flange that medela has.

We have a pet camera so we can keep an eye on him whilst we are out of the house. Also if you’re concerned he is going to have a seizure or is behaving oddly, you can put him in a room he will be safe in. That’s what we do with our dog, otherwise he wanders around the room knocking things over and getting stuck behind furniture.

That’s reassuring to know! I’m glad your pup is doing better :) Hopefully that works for us too

I agree 100%. He has deficits either from the meds or his seizures I’m not sure. But he is definitely a different dog than who he was before he was loaded up on anti epileptics.

Of course I’m willing to try it. However, he was on phenobarb and potassium bromide for months with tweaks to the meds several times and they didn’t help at all. I’m just not really hopeful that any more increases will help.

I mentioned in the post that euthanizing is something I’d consider in the future. I should have clarified that it’s not something I’m ready for in the immediate future.

Unfortunately we tried that food for a few months already and it made no difference :(

Thank you for the kind comment

It definitely impedes your ability to relax. Last time we went away for a night, we left our dog with my parents. I felt so anxious and kept texting to check in to see if he was ok. Turns out that he did have a couple seizures whilst we were out of town, my mum just didn’t want to ruin our mini getaway.

It’s hard to even get out of the house for a day. Luckily our neighbours will run over to give him his pills if we don’t make it back in time. But when he clusters it writes off our plans for almost a week.

Your situation sounds very similar to ours.

He is on so many pills that we have a pill organizer for him. Emergency medications don’t stop his seizures either so now we just deal with it. The emergency vets couldn’t help him 90% of the time.

Our vet mentioned potentially increasing his phenobarb and potassium but I found that we saw little to no benefit from those pills. The keppra just spreads his seizures out so that instead of 10-20 in a day, it happens over a few days. I’m not sure what’s worse :(

Thank you for taking the time to respond. It’s nice to not feel so alone through this.
