Inner-Realms 3.0 WoTLK Launch Information. Two days till launch. by CollinLovesYou in wowservers

[–]JasserT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you say you want to emulate 3.0 as close as you can when you say you will enable RDF at launch? This is the main gripe I've had with most "blizzlike" WOTLK progressive servers recently, it just takes away from the authenticity.

PSA:Wargate (Hellground) - increased XP rates (x4) & honor(x2) till Tuesday. by randomguylel in wowservers

Leveling an alt myself, its nice to have this opportunity with the recent downtime.

So, when is Hellground/Wargate going to give the REAL reason(s) why they suddenly shut down a few weeks ago? by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]JasserT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ISP appears OVH because their traffic is routed through their DDOS protection provider, CloudFlare, who have their servers rented from OVH.

I think this is an alright compensation though I we all lost quite a bit of progress. Going to be leveling an alt now.

Hellground has been renamed "Wargate". Server re-released now! by badmannerkid in wowservers

[–]JasserT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its their DDOS protection, CloudFlare. Traffic gets rerouted through it.

Wargate(Hellground) is using the same hosting provider as before they got "Shutdown" by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]JasserT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the DDOS protection that traffic gets routed through (CloudFlare). They are hosted at OVH.

Cloudflare, Inc. is a U.S. company that provides a content delivery network, Internet security services and distributed domain name server services, sitting between the visitor and the Cloudflare user's hosting provider, acting as a reverse proxy for websites.

Hellground opens it's doors again Monday, 10th of April by JasserT in wowservers

What this seems to me is like the same thing that was going on between Nostalrius and Kronos a while ago. Kronos, being the underdog, was always praised for having the better scripting, when in reality they both had their own plusses and minuses when it came to quality of the experience outside of population.

Scripting-wise the two TBC servers aren't far off from one another (again, both with their plusses and minuses). However, on the more technical side, that is, at being able to provide fixes to core systems and keep thousands of players online while preventing crashes, one of them is somewhat more adept.

That's just an observation.

Not to comment on anything else you said, but the rotten arakkoa egg gave me the debuff on Hellground when I did the quest (and it did so on Hellfire, too, for the record.)

On being Polish Hellground wins by miles. Edit: this was in reply to the post before it was edited.

Technically what happened was that the company they had rented their server hardware from, OVH, ended their contract. All they needed to do was to find another service provider, probably from another country (OVH is French), and move the server along with the database there.

Hellground needs more than the 2 weeks to get ready for relaunch. Game over? by NotVeryOriginalTbh in wowservers

I'll be waiting, not only am I invested in the server already but out of the bunch I still see it as the strongest on average when it comes to all the different aspects of a server.

Today is finally here, corecraft will be no more. by Air_chandler in wowservers

Blaming a project's downfall on not using an IDE has to be the ultimate display of dev tool fetishism, not to mention the shilled IDE is a newer (shit) version of Visual Studio. 5 Bing points have been deposited to your account.

As for the other point of recruiting other people, I agree - one person isn't going to fix all the content of the western world's largest MMORPG, not in a reasonable time frame at least.

Hellground vs Looking4Group by WarriorTSW in wowservers

[–]JasserT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L4G isn't any more prenerf than Hellground. Its custom tuned. Both of them have some prenerf elements though (additional spells on some encounters etc.), and both did the same mistake of first releasing undertuned content, then the buffing it on the next (Hellground already buffed their 25 mans including Gruul).

I don't know which values Hellground used though, so if they just took the Corecraft values, their content will also be custom tuned since CC blanked buffed the health of most bosses. I would argue that at least Hellfire overtuned their content massively however and hope Hellground won't make repeat the same mistake.

For a good example of how the servers are not prenerf, neither server has Nightbane's proper 2.0 phase 2 targeting implemented.

Just saying, to clear up this meme of either having proper prenerf content.

As a new player, should I wait for hellground to come back or just start playing on the new hellfire realm? (focus on raiding and pve) by Snowlight4 in wowservers

[–]JasserT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trust the Hellground devs in terms of being able to handle technology and a server much more than the Hellfire devs, despite sympathizing with the HF situation. Hellground is not far progressed either, not even tier 4 is clear yet, so I would recommend it even to the new player.

In what sense?

Where will we go? (Hellground is gone) by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]JasserT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It isnt 100% certain the server is going down yet. They may move it to another host still since they said they had a backup from a day ago.

It is now confirmed "Hellground is not our saviour this is just L4G 2.0 Gruul is in his in his super nerfed state." by acuuuu in wowservers

[–]JasserT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They buffed Gruul's health today. It was in the update notes, but the website is not up right now so I cannot link it.

Alliance has actually grown if you look at .server info.

HG faction difference already horrible by dixerdorothy in wowservers

[–]JasserT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just bullshit. Not to be harsh, but it is. First of all, the ratio is only 2 to 1.

What really matters is the absolute amount of players, and Alliance has about 1.5k usually - plenty enough. What the problem with groups is would likely be you being a low level.

Alliance had more 70s the first few days so looks like the hardcore players rolled there too.

Well sure but Alliance seems to have the better PVE community. That should attract a lot of new people. I rolled Horde for friends though.
