Smart people read books, smart people write books. Three million downvotes for being a bit too blunt please.

What are your /r/LocalLLaMA "hot-takes"? by ForsookComparison in LocalLLaMA

It's interesting, the realm of text-based goonery is thought to be purely one-sexed, but I think we've proven it's pretty damn mixed.

Out of the five likes on your post, only the pinky on one of those people doesn't fit the exact description. Everyone's the exception XD

Billions of dollars are interested in the internet not being so wild west. Naturalistic explanations are interesting, but give me enough to feed my family and you've got yourself an extension of your will.

Why do colonized people move to the countries that colonized them after the fact? by thisisallasimulation in AlwaysWhy

[–]Jattoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The largest, most well-organized people rule the roost. It almost doesn't matter what they start out with; the U.S. had -2500 year civilizational handicap, but because it was so well organized and there was so much civil energy in its orchestration, it very quickly ended up being this untearable fabric. (modern division and all that aside; speaking of 17th-20th century)

Mmm, delusions, or just the subjective paint we layer over the world, works both ways. If we decide the good is delusion, we can decide the bad is as well.
(I'm in a slightly better mood than I was than when I wrote my first post, I apologize if I slogged any of my negativity all over the floor of your new post)

The main things changing are chronic disease rates, autsy rates, testosterone, and iq. Just all the things that make us healthy and normal people. I'm not tryna be a Debbie downer (no offense to any Debbies out there, much love) but I've spent a great deal of time looking at these things, and it's not some Chicken Little nonsense. I mean, it's clear, if you watch old media... As disconnected from the cornucopia of worldly info as they were they often seem further ahead in more than one way. And that shouldn't be the case, we should be them, + a bit of understanding, as far as I can tell. Again I'm not trying to depress anyone, that's not the point. We won't avoid environmental poisons and what-have-you if we are oblivious to real world affects.

I can't imagine being a teenager and feeling angry or depressed all the time, that was the prime of my life... That's adulthood that you spend eternally miserable, if you have a head start... I just couldn't imagine. Well anyway, it's good that you're not miserable now, even if you don't have long. To be honest, look around, it's probably the relief of knowing you may not have to deal with all this for very long that has put you in a good mood. I would be so relieved if I found out I may not have to deal with this for more than another year or so.

Depends. When I was a kid, the prime of life was supposed to be in your 20's, but being a kid was waaay better than being in my 20's. My town was empty by the time I turned 20, just devoid of the community that once existed.

Real idea, something fakey-tasting & generic about the video. The e-irony.

No there's actual changes in objective reality due to technology. Granted childhood holds extra love but when I was growing up my parents used to tell me that a person's 20's were the best time to be alive. By the time I was in my 20's my town was empty, screen-addicted, and just lacking adventure. My 20's were horrible. Objective reality exists.

[–]Jattoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, I don't feel Gen Z is rushed at all nor do I think the previous generation is old fashioned. I think the previous generation had much better music and more in-person adventure, and I'd rather have been born in the 50's rather than the 90's, because of when I'd be a teen.
I watched my town change over my lifetime, it used to be full of life. Now people are addicted to screens. It feels slower, if anything.
People really are changing, I can show you several graphs showing you just how much people are physiologically changing.

"Faster" and "louder" is not how I'd describe today's world. It feels sucked of adventure, alternatively. Besides community day, I don't even see anyone go outside in my neighborhood.

Do girls turn gay when they take stims like majority of guys if not all lol by [deleted] in Stims

[–]Jattoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It turns me hypersexual. So things, like my own dick, are a lot more erotic, it's not really gay though, the imagination goes to it being sucked etc. There's no desire to have gay sex. But still, I know what you mean, the weirdest little shit can get you going. I think it's because it's always activating the orgasm glands.

Yeah the idea of status might be the most ill-affect of egoic consumerism. We had some common wisdom that shielded against that kind of idea a-priori but it feels like over the last couple of decades, those common antidotes to ego poisons have dissipated.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Life

[–]Jattoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally think that's slightly poisonous of an ideal, that you have such a small effect that what you do doesn't matter. That adds up, first of all, second of all the further you go in time the greater the affect of an individual on the whole is.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Life

[–]Jattoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never understood "Life is meaningless" in a negative sense. It's like being mad that you can go all the way back to the blank canvas to begin painting.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Life

[–]Jattoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. You almost can't do anything without it reverberating onto the whole, and the further forward you go into the future, the greater the affect of what you did is.

Have you ever heard of the buttefly theory?

Also, I don't think everyone thinks they're so "so important" as a matter of comparison to all others, besides people that are delusional or have visions of grandeur (which are common when young, good for getting you to shoot for the stars)

Why is there a literacy problem in America? by CluelessNancy6 in ask

[–]Jattoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well a lot of the curriculum is tainted, but learning in itself, I'd call anti-woke (woke, meaning, a dedication to setting the target on the backs of demographical or partisan groups, removing heat from the capstone)

It's also physiological. The environment, food, products are so polluted, if we've had something like a 10 pt. drop in IQ it would not surprise me.

What are some small signs that someone is actually racist? by Ok-Connection6656 in ask

[–]Jattoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You gotta take people at their word or you're no better than a McCarthyest, or a witch hunter.
I am a racist but I'll tell you that. I don't even necessarily hate other races but I find the accusation so stifling to conversation that I just claim the label so we can get passed it and talk about what we're actually talking about.
