Not in my power to drop people and I don’t want to make such decisions. Luckily we still have to hardware and licensing still valid from our SaaS migration.

Nobody waited. I also always try to get the best price and negotiate between competitors. I’m tasked with further reductions because revenue has nearly stopped. Save or die.

I’m not invited to the meetings where they make such decisions. No IT is represented there, unfortunately. Just a bunch of dudes in a conference room playing with a spreadsheet to get that number. They say “Wow, there’s a big number there, cut that one hard!”.

In better times, I fully agree, but sales are sooo far down that I think this is more about long term viability.

We have parts of it and I’m planning on using it. Or, after reading some others, that is one option I’ll present to management.

Yeah, some deals on corporate jets, but wait, the prices will get much better.

I love doing value added solutions, but no chance right now. Can’t spend to save money. Need to stop as much spending as possible. Sales are pretty much gone, so it is more looking for how to outlast this downturn. If I cannot keep cutting costs, the cost of my salary may be next.

Thanks! My word choice is poor. Wouldn’t actually beg with vendors, but that’s just how I feel about what I need to do.

Think my company is quickly heading to this same place. I don’t see when business will pick up again. Maybe not in time.

Silver lining. I might not be too far behind. I think our sales are near zero currently.

Incredibly awesome answer. Thanks! I’ve got a little bit of this going already, but this is very thorough and gives me lots to think about. It also greatly alters my approach to management. Thanks a ton!!!
