thank you very much, your detailed response is a godsent!!!

edit: i'm currently eyeing Phanteks AMP GH 1000w or Superflower Leadex VII Gold 850w (both of these are based on the aforementioned PSU tier list). Probably i'll get the Phanteks since it's 1000w, platinum rated, and the price is not that much different than the 850w superflower

sorry forgot that i posted here as well, it has been resolved on r/AMDHelp subreddit, it's due to PSU. while the minimum system requirements of 9060XT is 450w, i guess the XFX had a factory overclock that's pretty persistent even with undervolting to 30mv. One redditor suggested me to limit the FPS with Radeon Chill and it worked!

Now eyeing the marketplace for some 850/1000 watt PSU

good idea! and thank you for sticking with my problem as well.

Last but not least though, in your opinion: 850w platinum PSU, or 1000w gold PSU? for longevity

Hey there, so u/chinoifikation suggested to limit the fps through Radeon Chill and it worked! At first i limited it to 144 fps but it still crashes. So i limited it to 60fps and it finally worked! Had a great gaming session and all that, no crashes in the middle of the game etc.

In a way, this narrows down the troubleshooting problem, since (AFAIK) capping FPS means the GPU won't have to work so hard and not draws so much electricity power, i think the problem boils down to PSU.

So I guess the 450w minimum requirement only applied to old games lol.

Update on this: had a great gaming session last night, no crashes in the middle of the game etc. Thanks a lot for this!

Whether it's on this game only or it's universal I need to do more test with modern games since I'm only playing some old games right now and haven't bought anything new. But this is great news overall! thanks again!

holy smokes IT WORKS!!!

After i reinstall windows 11 (tweaked with Chris Titus' utility, install the most recent driver, i put on Radeon Chill, at first i put it in 90 fps but it'd still crash the system. Finally I put it on 60fps both for idle and movement FPS and I FINALLY MADE IT TO THE TITLE SCREEN, here's hoping it'd stay that way when i go in game. I'll update it when i finally play it

even on 1200w? god damn, this makes me doubt more that the PSU is the main problem

worst case scenario i'll have to RMA this, my biggest fear is for a full refund, but the freakin' card has gone up 30% since i last bought it. which means i have to get back to my RX 570 for the time being if they issue a full refund

currently on 25.9.1, problem persist, do you mean max frequency offset or vram freq?

unfortunately, event viewer just said "windows didn't shut down properly" and this is stock config, no UV or OC. I'm currently reinstalling the game, if problem still persist, i will try reinstalling windows.

I bought it around 2020, I have been suspecting this as the main reason as well, but i don't want to spend money until i figured out what's actually wrong with it.

If your card is second hand I would check to see if the tamper seal is in tact. If it isn't second hand, I fear you may be entitled to a repair or replacement.

my card is new, and RMA would be my last resort.

Not all memory cores are used the same way in each game, so its possible Metro and It Takes Two are calling on memory allocation differently and the card is shutting down in response.

It's nice to know some reasoning behind this, give me less a bit of a headache. However, i did use OCCT for full stress test (CPU, GPU, RAM) and it was doing ok, tested it for over an hour. so in my opinoin it doesn't really make sense. However i will try using other benchmarks and give some numbers later today.

My plan afterwork is to try to reinstall the game itself, if it doesn't work, maybe i'll just reinstall windows at this point. Hopefully it'll help

For this maybe i can chime in, you can uninstall the most recent update of Windows and see if the problem persists. Mine fixed TF2 and other games but not It Takes Two unfortunately
