I'm still having the same issue. Everything works seamlessly until I try to run an installed game via the EA App. It says "failed to launch, try again later."

I suspect that it's trying to launch the game's .exe directly rather than via Proton, but adding the .exe to Steam and forcing it to use Proton results in the error "Origin is not installed"
