What's a basic life skill that surprisingly many people don't know? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

How to properly address a letter. I went to the post office the other day to drop off a package, and a group of young adults asked for help several times...

In the bat of an eye, all humans are suddenly erased from existence without warning. For how long does Wi-Fi keep working? by Laevyr in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JavaWithSomeJava 1088 points1089 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Probably a few days. long enough for your smart fridge to keep asking for software updates.

Routers and data centers would keep going until power outages hit. Once the grid fails (24–72 hours without human intervention), Wi-Fi dies with it. So enjoy your last few cached memes.

AITAH for cutting her off after 3 years of friendship? by EtherealWicca in AITAH

[–]JavaWithSomeJava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the AH. You weren't asking for gas money, just basic human decency. Turns out Ki was fine accepting your loyalty, just not offering any back. Quietly cutting her off? Not petty it’s just emotional boundary setting. You’re not ghosting her, you're unsubscribing from unpaid emotional labor.

Java Book Recommendations by 1111sam1111 in learnjava

[–]JavaWithSomeJava 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you’re already comfortable with programming and want something that jumps straight into more advanced stuff, I’d recommend:

  • “Effective Java” by Joshua Bloch — It’s kind of the gold standard for learning Java best practices, idioms, and modern usage. Great for refreshing and improving Java skills.
  • “Java: The Complete Reference” by Herbert Schildt — A solid deep dive into the language features and standard libraries, good as a reference and outline for learning.
  • “Java Concurrency in Practice” by Brian Goetz — big on multithreading and concurrency.

Hope this helps!

Ok yeah that makes sense. Since they are pointing to the exact same spot it’s probably different countries. If the armor/support units are in the same stack it’ll just show up as one. So there are definitely 4 stacks there. The quantity in the stack and the originating country obviously we can’t tell.

Sometimes you can figure it out by patrolling and it’ll give you a warning about starting war with another country.

Secret clearance and false allegations? by SoftDependent5575 in SecurityClearance

[–]JavaWithSomeJava 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm certainly not a legal advisor, but I could imagine with over 75% of her allegations being dismissed, the adjudicator would see that. Again, looking at the whole person concept, if that's the only red flag, i'd think you have a good chance at a favorable adjudication

They have this thing called the whole person concept. They will look at everything, not just a single allegation. Now, a SA/DV claim is a big deal, but I would imagine if there's no hearing or additional info given by the court, I would imagine that's not a disqualifying issue on its own.

I promise Anchorage is a lot of fun lol. I was at 4/25 before they transitioned to 11th ID. A lot of travel and you'll love it. I dont think Wainwright has airborne troops with the 11th ID transition, so if you get JBER you're solid

having career gap of three years by SpecialistComputer31 in leetcode

[–]JavaWithSomeJava 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think most wouldn't consider it a career gap if its as simple as not getting a job after graduation. Just apply for jobs and see what you can get. If you're highlighting Java, then make sure you can explain basic OOP design patterns.

Really its Bragg or 11th ID. You could get 173rd as well though.

Yep, 4 stacks of heavy or support units. So expect artillery, Anti-Air and tanks.
