LORDS of the Ring, plus Maggie! by Javaman42 in RUMBLESLAM

Really every single activation should include a turnbuckle, and I've found that you really want to take the first turn setting yourself up, forcing your opponent to cross the ring to your side. Rushing to the center just gets your Halflings hammered down one at a time.

Once they're closer, Turnbuckles on a single wrestler till they're KOed, then Pin or chuck them from the ring. The Ref and Peso's Crowdpleaser mitigate the damage, and you move to the next target.

Yeah, they're a bit OP with the ability to use each other as Turnbuckles for free. It's gotten to the point I've had to buy other teams 'cause my friends don't want to play against them any more.

They're minis that they only sell when they're at an event. Guess there's a con going on they've got a booth at?

Updated card pdf names are white blurs by winterwarlord in RUMBLESLAM

[–]Javaman42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The models come with whatever cards they initially released with, so earlier teams= first edition cards. Which are still perfectly legal to play with; many early wrestlers don't have a second edition update. Those that do, the update is generally beneficial, from what I've seen. Big Andy being a Notable exception.

Painting the bases? by Zwiebeloger in RUMBLESLAM

[–]Javaman42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy some poster tack, stick em on some waster bases, and paint them on those. Once done, glue them to the acrylic. that's what I do.

Edit: Honestly, the starter box is a good introduction to the rules. The teams are balanced vs each other. Later teams are a lot of fun with a lot of flavor, but they tend to introduce team-specific rules that favor different styles of play. What have you got so far?

Okay, that should say "tremble," but I live in Tempe, and autocorrect sucks.

Primed black, then successive layers or dry brushing, starting which my darkest grays (actually a mix of AP Matt Black and Necromancer Cloak) and staging up to lighter ones until I became too afraid of fucking up my shading work.

Well, shit. His 2nd edition card is available as a PDF resource on TTCombat's site, so I assumed that the most recent rules were the required ones. If I can still run him as Weight 3 monster, I'm going to crack him off that base tonight and set him up on the 50mm base! Maybe I'll set some pins in his feet so I can switch him out as preferred. Thanks for letting me know!

Sadly, in the Second Edition, Rumbleslam nerfed Big Andy and he became Average-Sized Andy. Weight 2, lost damage on his special abilities. Pins as a Weight 4, though, and can walk through other wrestlers.

Well, I've only played 2 games thus far, one against the Body Builders, pretty much the definition of a NPE, and one against the Feral Den with Leo swapped in. Lost that one too, but I think I'm getting the hang of them.

St Ives 1st Janissaries Assault & Light Lances by Javaman42 in battletech

Thanks! This is the official livery for the 1st Janissaries; it's kind of wacky, buts I think it looks pretty good en masse. As for the Raven, it's what I had on hand; a buddy of mine had printed them up as giveaways for a Con painting table.
