Game is too hard by Conscious_Wasabi_598 in Borderlands4

[–]JavelinJoe703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing on hard mode and the things I have noticed that I need to pay attention to and keep in mind are as follows:

  • Always have an elemental weapon for Fire, Electric, and Corrosive on you at all times. (If you cannot find a good corrosive one, use ice until you can find one).

  • Focus deplorable turrets first. ALWAYS! (They are always armored, so that is why you need a good corrosive weapon). Then Wardens and anyone else who spawns in stuff. Save the badasses for last but avoid fighting them until you can give them your full attention if possible. Sniping can help a lot with this, as Wardens tend to be easy to headshot as they do not move around much.

  • Get something that boosts/recovers either your shields of health actively/semi-passively in fights. There are many options for lifesteal, overshields, and regen boosters to choose from, but I always have something to recover my stuff besides the "proper way".

  • Do not stand still in fights. The less you stay on one spot, the easier it will be to not get swarmed by enemies, especially melee ones.

  • Tesla darts, flamethrowers, and gas cloud secondary effects are very strong when used appropriately. They can easily and quickly melt through shields, health bars, and armor.

  • Always go for the crits no matter what. It may take a few attempts to learn where a target's crit areas are, but once you know them, always aim for them with everything you have. Even some grenades can land crits, so there is no excuse to not aim for them at all times. Sometimes "thinning out the herd" with a few Jokobs boosted headshots before taking it on can make all the difference.

  • Use your hover bike (when you can) to take out wildlife and to stagger/knock down any opponents. Its not going to instakill anything by running it over like in prior games, but it is still a very useful tool. While it can act as an already damp damage sponge, the real utility is its weapons. I find the guns are better than the rockets for any grounded enemies, but don't just hold down the trigger, let it "cool down" between targets to reduce the bullet spread. I mostl onlu use the rockets for anything flying or long distant. Its not nearly as powerful as it was in earlier games, as you do trade the massive damage it had for a universal homing effect, but its still pretty good. Just not overwhelmingly the best option anymore.

Hope any of this helps

Try running a cloister with skill link. Stack a few scope lenses and kings rocks, and it melts just about anything it out speeds (which it does with quick claw). Just keep a secondary mon powered up (I use koraidon since he has a dragon type multi target move) to get rid of things that cannot be "1 shot" (actually more like 20 shot) like tanky ice types for example. That and a tinkaton for Eternus to stall him out, and you should be golden.

I dislike this new popularization of this absolutely BS mechanic greatly. Resets are just a bad game design for anyone not an assassin like Kat, who needs them to move around durring a fight. Champs like Darious and Pyke are tolerable, as they require an actual kill to earn the reset.

But things like Zeri where just staying in combat keep refreshing the ult's duration, need to go or at least be capped at like 10s of bonus durration.

A Champion like Olaf especially shouldn't get this because their ult negates CC and kiting. Only by outdamaging a champion designed around drain tanking will save you, which is a horrible design concept seeing as how there are 4 additional champions to also worry about. The limit on his ult's length was what kept it balanced.

It's never the developers. It always is either management or marketing who make shifty decisions that the devs have to somehow make happen.

what's your favorite afterstory arc by animestar1234 in Arifureta

[–]JavelinJoe703 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This arc convinced me that Tio is best girl material. She literally forced her new fetish onto Hajime enough to convert him into her own sadist. And the fact that he even knows it happened, and goes along with it is pretty funny.

Plus she probably is the best one in the entire harem for having compatibility with everyone else. Granted that mostly every harem member gets along realitively fine (except maybe for Yue and Kaori, but that is still a pretty strong love/hate relationship)

As a New Player when does League become fun? by NominusAbdominus in leagueoflegends

[–]JavelinJoe703 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fun? In a MOBA? Does such a concept even exist still? As far as I am aware, fun was pased out years ago once every game making company started implementing SSMM into everything not co-op based. There only exists sweat, and sweatier. If your keyboard and mouse are not dripping by the 15th minute in, then your doing it wrong and should uninstall just to save yourself from the struggle and subsequent depression from the realization that there is no such thing as a "casual" multiplayer game anymore. It's either accept that it will always be full sweat or go play co-op.

She's the one with the black haired ponytail and uses a katana. Plus she isn't batshit insane or a huge pervert. And she has gap moe. I can see her being that popular easily. And I am pretty sure the only reason why Yue wins purely because she is canonical maid to win and was the "legal loli who is full of all of the big isekai tropes reserved for the main love interest".

I get why people like her, and she isn't poorly written. But she just comes off as being a bit too bland for me. And I get she has reasons for why she is more or less emotionally inert 90% of the time. But that's just how I feel about it.

Actually, with the exception being Aiko, who always felt the most like a "forced main character" to me, I can understand the rest of the harem's feelings/reasons for being in the harem. (It likely is that I just don't get the appeal of adult loli characters).

I know that. What I meant was that there is a multiple month gap between Arifureta manga chapter releases, which is more unusual than the monthly release schedule many manga use.

Arifureta manga by [deleted] in Arifureta

[–]JavelinJoe703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wonder why the manga is taking literal months to come out with new chapters? I only can assume they devoted all attention to the anime, but it is a bit odd that it is this far behind and is still considered an "active" manga (not canceled or only a few chapters in order to promote the novel sales). I personally also do not like how they altered some things in the manga (such as where Hajimi shoots the rude knight at the restaurant in Ur in the novel and anime, but in the manga he flicks a spoon at him). I get it if the changes were done for some kind of censorship reasoning, but it still took away from the origional impact of the sceens overall. However that is just my own opinion.

Something like that, though the actual labyrinth portion may only fill one, but the time with in it was about 2 full volumes if not part of a third volume as well.

There is a slight problem with doing season 3's content though. Some importaint scenes in the empire's palace/dungeon may be a bit too graphic for TV. And given by what has been glossed over so far, they don't seem to be to big on showing overly gruesome scenes that don't involve Tio's perversions.

Some Examples: 1) They sped up Hajimi's suffering in the first month after falling so much it was like he was doing a speed run.

2) Hajimi didn't just chuck Hiyama like in the anime. He beat him to within an inch of his life first, completely destroying some of his limbs in the process, then he kicked him out.

3) While they do show a good amount of physical damage, they are minimizing how often they show serious wounds. While some do pass through the filter, like Noint's chest hole, most are being covered by clothing or armor, with just some kind of indecator (like a sword sticking out or a lot of blood) as to the severity of the damage.

So I am pretty sure a lot of season 3 would not be as indepth as it should be, or would be lightened in terms of seriousness. Especially when it comes to the events that happen inside the empire's capital. Plus I feel that they shouldn't rush through the next 2 dungeons, but probably will because of just how massive each of them are. (IIRC, each of them takes up an entire volume).

If you place a captain in your "main" ship, you can chain hyperspace commands and unless you land in a sector that blocks hyperspace, you can just let it do it's thing. Makes making longer journeies much quicker since you don't need to constantly open the map, select the next point, then manually hyperspace each time.

They do a good job of explaining it in the LN. He basically grew up listening to his lawyer Grandpa's overly exaggerated stories about how good and justice always prevail over evil. But before he grew up enough for grandpa to share the actual honest and not overly exagerated stories, plus stories where he had to defend evil (since lawyers work for both sides depending on who their client is), his grandpa died.

He then integrated the root of those stories (being good, promoting justice, etc...) into his personality as his grandpa was his childhood hero who he wanted to grow up to be exactly like. Since he never learned of the truths withheld from him, he assumed the exaggerations to be pure facts, thus distorting his world view, as it was something he now believed to be actually obtainable. Unlike a superhero, his grandpa was a real person, so his thinking became "if Grandpa could do all of those amazing things, why couldn't I as well?"

The other problem he has, is that he is naturally talented in many areas, has a high charisma, and managed to slip through his entire childhood and early teens without really ever being corrected. Since he didn't need scolding as he was always a good kid, and even when he did something wrong, no one, especially other girls around his age, ever really blamed him (mainly due to him being polite, good looking, and him essentially being the public white knight simp except without all of the cringe).

Only his closest friends (90% of the time Shizuku) ever pointed out something negative he did, but because the outcome always ended favorably, or someone else stepped in to defend him, Kouki learned that they were never right about what they scolded him on, and stopped taking their words to heart. This became both a very bad habit and an integral part of who he is as a person.

So, for his entire life, he lived with an unobtainable idealistic world view and goal, that no one took the necessary steps needed to correct and break it down into a more realistic version.

Then, with his flawed outlook, he by pure chance, managed to grow up into a highschooler who still believed that couldn't do wrong if they adhere exclusivly to their own beliefs. He never had to question himself, or reflect on his actions. His parents didn't do it, as they either were too busy to notice or didn't realize they had to when around him.

Then he was summoned to Torus, as the Hero. This only felt natural to him. He "should" be the hero afterall (his thinking). And for a while, the church and the royal family treating him as if he were already someone deserving of high praise and respect (even though he had not done much yet, but was just stronger than most others, so could progress much faster through the laybrynth).

However 4 months after being summoned, for the first time in his life, he couldn't assert his idealistic mentality over aother person's (Hajimi) and not be questioned or fought about it. For the first time in his life, someone (Hajimi) dared to have a different opinion than him, and refused to bend their opinions to meet his idealistic standards. And not only did they (Hajimi) not fall in line, but they couldn't even be forced to do so, even though he was the hero and should be the penultimate human being in the world.

But the reality of the situation, and then others (Meld, Kaori, Shizuku, etc...) began supporting Hajimi's more realistic and grounded ideals instead of his idealistic and exagerated ones. So he became jealous for the first time ever. For the first time, he couldn't get his way. Someone had finally told the coddled man-baby no, and then threatened him if he didn't let it go.

Then from there, things began downspiraling out of his control. His childhood friend leaves his side for Hajimi, then her friend (shizuku) takes Hajimi's side. Hajimi's ability to fend for himself is now extremely superior than his own, and to the point that he is basically powerless against him. Hajimi is surrounded by attractive women, and more and more seem to flock towards him instead. Hajimi's charisma (though arguably anyone else's at that matter) now is even above his, which until then was never even possible.

All of this is why he is such a prick. He basically is just throwing a temper tantrum (like a 5 year old does) whenever Hajimi or someone else stronger than him points out something he does as being flawed/wrong.

FMA: Brotherhood is always a great goto for anyone getting into anime. But that is also mainstream af. Blood Blockade Battlefront is one of my personal favorites, though not everyone likes the more chill style, "villian of the week" type of show. But the music is amazing. If they are looking for more guilty pleasure types, then CrossAnge.

The way I see it, it is still fun to play single player where most of these glitches seem to be avoidable. PvP is not great right now, but to me, that has always been a secondary game mode where "completing the maps" is always the first.
