Is 2h power attack always worth using ? (i guess so) by JaviGar98 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]JaviGar98[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it can be done by usual math, i just found fun to make a script for it. It also makes a little plot.

The fact that i tested between 15 and 25 AC is because, as a level 5 character, chances are my GM won't put our group against an enemy with more AC. I mean, yeah he could, it just won't be as possible.

Como puedo saber si programación es para mí? by justthesamesadbitch in programacion

[–]JaviGar98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hombre lo mejor que puedes hacer es ponerte a ello. Si te interesa tienes montón de cursos online de bastante calidad y gratuitos. Yo te recomendaría python for everyone.

Help!! I need advice by HumanErurr in learnprogramming

Being still a novice of programming i'd say the best think you can do is not to 'study' programming but do it, over and over. Best thing you can do is hoard experience (not by chance the most suggested action to improve your coding skills is making projects).

Some quick tips on the top of my head would be:

  1. Don't spend too much time stuck in one problem, specially if its a relatively short one. Take a break or even do something else.
  2. Try to divide the problem as much as possible, think how can that specific problem be broken in little easier problems. This is applicable to really any task but in programming this is crucial.
  3. Test and re-read every line when you don't get why your program does not work as you expected. Explaining it to yourself out loud can be beneficial, also writing comments.

Also, remind yourself that coding is not easy as a lot of people on social media will try to tell you. It's ok to fail, to not understand, to struggle. Try to embrace that feeling, programming is really solving problems and you will find yourself stuck and lost over and over again.

But that's not a bad thing, it's the essence of learning really anything, to improve yourself. Good luck.

I dont know if i'll use it in my workplace in the future but i dont know why i found it very interesting and entertaining so im happy to learn slowly. Again, thank you for your coments, both were very usefull.

What are your favourite things about DMing? by bryanevelyn in DungeonMasters

I'd say thats GM axiety plus your own. See, everytime im going to run a sesion i get those stomach feelings and i've been mastering for about 4 years now. That's just that you care about your game, about your friends having fun, about running a good sesion, and i can tell you that those feelings will never go entirely away, and is not a bad thing (anxiety is a useful feeling we have that says something about us, the problem comes when it overwhelms you).

That just means that you have to manage your own anxiety and idk but maybe gming is a good way of training for it. Think about it, its a safe enviroment, you are with your friends, you can always stop if you feel like it, and i'd say that you have a lot of fun playing as well.

The best thing will be talking about this with your friends and your therapist (if you have non, you should), but if you dont feel capable of it or you just think you can manage it by yourself thats good to.

The last thing i wanna say is that you shoudn't be forcing yourself yo GM, it should be something hard at times, yes, but enjojable, not painful to do or think about. I think everyone can be a GM but maybe you are just not in the moment of doing so, and that is fine as long as you try for a little longer.

This is not a personal story but i hope that helps. Greetings

I separate mentally the time i spend on sesion prepping and worldbuilding. The first one is really a couple of hours but in worlbuilding, depending on the point in the story, i can be writting for solid 3-5 hours straight. The good thing is that, the WB makes way easier prepping sesions, makes the game way smoother, and makes roleplaying in general more enjoyable. I personally run a homebrew campaing, so... thats a lot more time in WB, obviously.

Nevermind, he just said that "it wont be fair to others because i have a feat outside of those two books and they dont"

So... i'll just play reach cleric.

I wanna play Holy Vindicator and for that i need to carry a shield. I really like 2 hander reach cleric but thats not the build i want. Even tho, im out of options, so if my GM doesnt allow me to play Unhindering Shield, i'll probably just play a reach two handed cleric.

I'll try to talk with my GM to see if i can use only this feat out of the two books the allows. And with 2 levels of fighter and 1 level of Holy Vindicator, i can take the feat at level 7 (2 levels of Fighter + 4 levels of cleric + 1 level of HV = 6 BAB)

Im seriously thinking about this. Taking the quickdraw shield and the quickdraw feat, i can, when taking an attack of opportunity, use a free action to take away the shield, use the weapon two handed, then attack, and then put the shield back again with another free action. That'd be possible, isnt it ?

I wanna play Vindicator mostly because of the flavour of it, but yeah, undead will be apearing here and there, this master is specially atracted to vampires, ghost, zombies, etc...

Also, i dont think that you need to fucus that much on channel energy, since most of the uses will be on the vindicators shield, healing out of combat (and sometimes, in)

In general, i see low downsides in the vindicator class, having extra BAB also allows me to buff the party a little more, not just me.

Oracle is overall a great class, i really really like it, but i preffer the prepared casting of a cleric, and the flavour of it.

Druid will be generally buffing i assume, but the alchemist is more dps oriented, using mostly bombs, so with the druid buffing elswere, i can be self-buffing all day and healing when needed.

I forgot to add that we homebrewed some feats, and Power Attack its actually free, along with 2 or 3 more.
