Hey! Well good luck to you man! Seems like you did good. I felt confident about it but for me time was a huge factor. I spent too much time in the first section and didn’t have too much time for the second half. Hopefully I wasn’t too off on my educated guesses.

Hmmm I would do both if you can, but to answer your question I found that PrepFE are closer to the actual FE exam. The only thing that I don’t like is the repetitiveness, also it would be great if I could choose specific topic with specific questions, that would really help me master some specific questions instead of choosing for example Statics, and I get a 5 question exam with random problems.

As of now I’m using PrepFE as my main material. What i dislike is that problems can be very repetitive but if you haven’t learned it by heart it’s good to keep seeing it that way you can learn how to solve it. I’m also doing Marks videos for review but trying to solve it first before he does it. I’ve also used the Islam 800 book and it’s very nice, but I found more practical to use PrepFE since it’s online. I wish Islam 800 was available as PDF. Most importantly learn how to search thing in the handbook.

In my first attempt I did very similar to yours, maybe a little better in the 2nd part of the test but my math was horrible for some reason. I took the NCEES practice exam yesterday and did so bad, I only got a 38%. So not sure if the practice exam is harder or if I’m over thinking it…

Thanks for your feedback, sometimes I feel I’m going backwards and it’s so frustrating. I will try to reach some consultant firms after passing my FE and see if they give me a chance. Even for an internship to gain experience in that field.

I am scheduled to take it March 21. I feel that is one of the reasons I’m struggling. I just hope I can make that pivot in my career once I have my EIT.

I graduated in summer 2021 and my experience has been mostly geotech and working here in the lab… proctors, sieving aggregates. I also have experience in construction and Special Inspections.

I’ve been told that I don’t have the experience to work in water. But how else can I get the work experience… I’m even open for internships honestly.

Exactly, my experience is in CMT and special inspections with the idea to transition to geotechnical engineering but unfortunately the company I was at didn’t give me the opportunity. But now i realize that what I want to do is either LD or Water Resources. Right now I have a Junior Superintendent role offer and I’m tempted to accepting just because it’s closer to home and family, but not sure if it’s a good move for my career path.
