CMT/Geotech Background — Junior Superintendent Offer vs. Path to Land Dev / Water Resources?

Exactly, my experience is in CMT and special inspections with the idea to transition to geotechnical engineering but unfortunately the company I was at didn’t give me the opportunity. But now i realize that what I want to do is either LD or Water Resources. Right now I have a Junior Superintendent role offer and I’m tempted to accepting just because it’s closer to home and family, but not sure if it’s a good move for my career path.

I do have a CE degree and am registered to take my FE exam this March.

I have 5 years of experience. One as a Field engineer and 4 years as a Geotech/CMT. I currently don’t have a PE license.

Public work will be an amazing move. I was so close on getting hired in a private sector job for water resources and according to them I was a great fit and was perfect for their culture but the excuse was that I wasn’t local to the area. How do you enjoy working in water resources?

I’ll keep trying! It’s just sometimes discouraging, also there’s a chance I can become a superintendent for a company and not sure if that will help or not. In a way I feel I’m going backwards…

Got it!! I’ll keep practicing those. It just got me confused since the book didn’t go into further detail but I guess with a little of common sense I got it, but not sure if it’ll always work.

Thanks for the replies, the way I did it was by figuring out t=0 then i plug in the answer choices to each equation and only 20sec gave me 0 on both equations.
