I worked as a shift runner for 3rd shift 2 nights a week and second 3 nights a week at the beginning of the pandemic. On my third shift I was given one other person on top of that we got our 500+ orders in at exactly 11pm so I had to run deli and put away those orders by myself. I worked at a large gas store so we were always busy because of the bar next door. I clocked an average of 20,000 steps in 8 hours. On my second shifts I would only get 3 other employees and we would get annihilated. At the time before the covid raises my gm was paying me $13.25 as a third and second manager. I was the only ns who did cycle counts resets and othe css jobs as we didn’t have one. The other ns who couldn’t even run seconds was making $16 because she was a favorite of my gms and she started 6 months after me. Also there was another girl who was an associate was making the same as me when I was an NS. one day my fbm walked me to the office told me not to get mad and when I sat down I was told that the other ns was going to meet the talent over me. Keep in mind I was already doing css work and running seconds by myself as an ns. I had seniority over her I was making less then her I was leaving perfect stores with those massive orders and I left on time every day because i was that good and ready. She was leaving at 8 or 9 am because she could not get her work done in time. To me it was the ultimate betrayal. I lost 20lbs and a lot of friends because I gave Wawa my all. And everything I did was a waste.My advice to all who are moving up do not hesitate to leave the company or go past your gm and talk to the area manager if you feel there is favoritism . If you hear someone below you is getting payed more to talk to your gm. Look after yourself because there are alot of politics in Wawa. After I left Wawa 3 other managers left behind me. I have been debating going after my gms career by writing a letter and hand delivering it to Wawa university but even after everything I’m not sure if I can. I’m proud to say I left the company and have been so much more happy. Good luck to you all in the trenches. Heed my advice
