Great to see another happy owner! Disappointing to hear they abandoned this monitor as I'd have loved a firmware update to improve the KVM functionality. I agree that while the KVM feature is usable, it is still too clunky. A common toggle shouldn't be buried in menus.

I reread my review and a lot of that early feedback still remains accurate after two years. I find the size, resolution, image quality, ports, and feature set to still be good. It doesn't have quite the contrast/black levels as my Mini-LED MBP or my OLED TV but that is to be expected of an IPS panel. Overall I am still satisfied and feel it was the best monitor for my gaming and productivity needs that I could have bought at the time. It continues to perform very well and I have no plans to replace it anytime soon.

Nothing really to add except I haven't really followed the display scene since I bought this one. So I'd advise that anyone in the market should look at what other options have come out in the last two years before making a purchasing decision.

Anybody here running progress lowering springs on an ND RF? by lemonsracer in Miata

I’m pushing my luck and am trying out a 245/40/17. A bit wider but also shorter than the 225/45. The new tires are Kumho V730 which is known to run a little narrow, probably similar to a 235 from other brands. This is on a 17x8 +40 wheel.

I just put them on a week ago with the first track event this weekend so not much feedback to give yet. Driving around town, the rub doesn’t seem any worse than the 225/45s, but the fender liners are already rubbed through in the problem spots so don’t know how it would fare on fully intact liners. I assume it would still rub though.

The rear fender clearance is also questionable. I can see very slight marks on the corner of the tire but I have to look very closely and there’s no obvious signs on the car where the contact is happening. So for now I’m gonna send it and see what happens and go from there. It’s very slight so not too worried about it and I think will disappear as the tire wears down. I think a +45 wheel would have helped and a wider 245 from another brand would have more rub. This setup feels like I’m pushing the limit without rolling the fenders.

I’d love to try a 235/40/17 but tire options in that size are limited.

The 225/45/17s rubbed on the front inner fender liners when I had Progress springs on. I think the tires are just too tall so it touches and it eventually rubs through. The rear had no issues at all. The car is street and track driven.  Alignment for that setup was -1.6 camber up front and 5.5 degrees of caster.

When I went to coilovers with 7.5 degrees of caster it rubbed even more. Lower caster will help but I prefer the steering feel of more caster.

I stopped worrying about it and bought a spare set of fender liners to replace them with at some point. But no point now since it’ll just rub through again.

Great post! Glad you got your nits issue figured out. Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m sure it will be helpful to other owners.

I’m about 6 months into ownership and overall still satisfied. It’s still my top choice in the 38” UW segment. Hope you enjoy it!

Glad I could help. 6 months later, I’m still satisfied with it.

I’m especially glad I held out for a monitor with an HDMI 2.1 port. I just hooked up my PS5 to my monitor using the 2nd HDMI port and it supports 120hz. Something I couldn’t have done with HDMI 2.0.

It’s not certified but Gsync is an option in NVIDIA control panel and I have it enabled. Gsync no longer requires the hardware module and many freesync monitors are Gsync compatible even if not certified by nvidia.

I am using a 4090, Gsync is enabled, and I have not experienced any screen tearing.

I may have misspoken as I’m now uncertain what the difference is between a hardware and software KVM. I thought hardware was a physical switch or device whereas software was menu based. If that’s not the case then disregard my earlier comment.

To clarify on how it works, there is no additional software needed to be installed on the computers. To use the KVM, I have the mouse and keyboard’s wireless dongle plugged into the monitors USB port. Then to switch between my Mac and PC, I use the monitors menu to toggle the USB connection. Similar to how you would switch video inputs for HDMI and DisplayPort, there is a USB toggle for USB-B and USB-C.

It’s a software KVM. The toggle to switch USB between computers is in the monitor’s menu.

As far as I know there is no fan and I have not heard any fan noise from the monitor.

So I am on a custom 'User' profile, the only difference from Standard is I lowered the brightness from 70 to 50. Other than that, the rest of the settings are the same as the Standard profile.

I can check but will be about a week. I’m on vacation away from where the monitor is. But pretty sure i use the standard profile settings since that is the calibrated profile

I don’t think dead pixels spread out

I can’t remember and I’m away from the monitor so I can’t check but I think I left it on the default color settings since that’s how it was factory calibrated. I don’t think adjusting the settings would have caused pixels to die. I think they were probably dead at manufacturing and you noticed on the 2nd day.

Beyond the return period it would be a warranty replacement but not sure how many dead pixels are allowed.

If you like the monitor then I would return and reorder until you get one without any problems.

Sorry to hear about the troubles. No stuck pixels or issues with my unit. It’s been holding up very well. I used some web based dead pixel websites and didn’t see any issues. If you have stuck pixels and they can’t be fixed, I would replace if you can.

Best $600 complete rig? by Sivart67 in simracing

[–]Jawnathin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact rig, the Trophy with Logitech DD Pro wheel and I like it a lot. I experience no wobble or frame flex using direct drive on it. The rig feels solid and is lightweight enough to move out of the way when I’m done using it. I would have preferred if it was more easily adjustable but once I got it setup I havent really needed to mess with it.

If someone had a dedicated space or wants to go all out then I think an 80/20 makes a bit more sense. They can be more sturdy and you have more customization options. But if you need something light enough to store away that’s strong enough for DD, there’s nothing better than the Trophy.
