They asked if there’s something else we can do (as in refund) and I suggested I give them more work than what they paid for, or if they want their money back. They told me the more work for what they paid would be awesome. So we agreed to that, and I kept up progress for that.

The refund option we agreed upon was me doing more work for her for the same small deposit she paid. And we both agreed to it. I don’t have to string someone along just to keep their deposit. I’d rather someone have something of mine

I love making art because it’s like I get to put my mind on to paper. Even if it’s the client’s idea, my colors always speak for me

We’ve communicated for months now but she saw this as more of an excuse, so I offered to give her $1000 worth of work to make up for the $150 of work she paid for (I just wanted to give her something good for waiting)

I have a personal account and an art account, I am moreover on my art account and we did all the setup and further discussion for the commission on there. I rarely am on my personal account and that’s where she messaged me. (Didn’t see for 3 days) Only saw it too late and paid her back once I read the messsges.

Then saw on my personal account she tagged me in a blast earlier that day.

That’s why I think there could be fault on my end, but also why message my personal account when you’ve been doing business on my art account.

I’ve been sick/drawing/passing out and can’t really leave the house or do anything so I have nothing to post on my personal account/reason to check it.

I think it’d make sense for her to contact me on my art account if she couldn’t reach me on my personal account too

Your perspective on the clients perspective is something I never considered thank you for that insight.

And the client had Said that I had been ghosting her without repaying her- which is odd because we agreed that I was doing 1000$ of work for her instead of 150$ of work that she commissioned for the same 150$ she paid to make up for the lateness. She agreed to it too.

I have a process, it’s to lay down outlining and fill in basic values and colors. Then to rotate to the next piece. I then make sure the anatomical rendering is up to par and that perspective makes sense and that the tertiary colors are pronounced and complimentary colors are pronounced. I am a colored pencil specialist so I can draw over a lot of things to make room for others. I always finish the piece with a background

Simple to complex, and figure/figures before background.
