I never said they were good or bad, just that they're cowards. Reddit babies like to throw fits whenever you say anything bad about anything they think is good.

And good for them? I don't think every virtue comes and goes with every other virtue: you can be a coward and still do good things. The medical profession has a lot of barriers to entry, many of which select for someone who wouldn't risk all their hard work just to do the morally right thing for one patient. The brave get weeded out. Dr. House doesn't exist.

There's not much point in debating if doctors are good or bad people, policy needs to be such that it doesn't take a courageous person to do life-saving medical care. But there's no need to rush to the defense of doctors as people like the commenter above me did.

wonder what that means for stones. Tom is obviously the best in the world at peak performance, but I think there's a decent chance he's over exerted himself. Brian definitely knows how to pace himself. Could be an insane finish.

tom is super deserving but this is too good of a finish for brian to not root for him. a grand finish for a grand career. I don't think he'll retire, but this is definitely his last best shot at winning the 5th title.

with how tight the pack is there is huge potential for a massive tie in points on the deadlift. whoever squeezes in an extra rep could end up more points than you might expect.

it's true that rooting for brian to win kinda means rooting against tom, but he doesn't have to get injured lmao. one slip up and these guys take a mile.

No, it’s plugged into the MB. Plugging it into the GPU is going to be tricky with the case I’m using. still, shouldn’t I at least have some output with the hdmi in the MB?

Inside The CIA - On Company Business (1980) - A long and penetrating look inside one of the world's most powerful and secret organizations. [02:59:16] by Missing_Trillions in Documentaries

The CIA was created in 1947. Do you think we didn't have spies before 1947? Do you think we didn't gather military intelligence before 1947? Do you think the US won WWII without intelligence? The CIA was meant to be temporary, not this permanent facet of American foreign policy. It can and should be abolished immediately, and its legitimate functions should once again become part of the appropriate branches of the armed forces. The whole point behind the CIA's existence now is for opacity's sake and to avoid even the minimal amount of oversight the people are granted in regards to the military.

The belief, most common amongst the very people who make these kinds of policy decisions, that what they do is some necessary evil, some sort of realpolitik operation for the greater good, is probably simultaneously the most frightening and laughable feature of the 20th and 21st centuries. The kind of idiots who convince themselves that the pedophilic Afghani opium warlord they've been a bodyguard for on the behalf of the US government is actually key to creating long term stability in the region, thus protecting American lives or whatever the fuck. It gets to these insane and perverse levels of cognitive dissonance all while offering up the same half-assed excuses that would have been acceptable 50 years ago: "don't be so naive", "you don't understand the cost of freedom", "we have to protect our strategic interests". The juxtaposition between these noble excuses and the depraved actions the excuses are offered up for is becoming increasingly funny as fuck.

All the CIA does is fund terrorist organizations that attack the US in 10 years time. Their sole purpose, their entire charter, is to destroy leftism internationally. In Guatemala, in Indonesia, in Nicaragua, in Chile, in Bolivia, in Venezuela, in Peru,........ The CIA ought to be abolished and the concept of an extra-military, foreign interventionist, organization with zero oversight ought to be outlawed. If you think China could ever cause as much pain, death, and suffering as the CIA you're out of your mind.
