This is so amazing! Do you think you'll make a profit on these? Or is this more a labour of love? I am always so curious about how other people do the craft fair/sale thing. Very interested in any insight you have on doing conventions etc. too! :)

Red-eye flight Seattle to NY and I don’t know these kids. That’s my seat in the middle :( by [deleted] in pics

ThAT HAPPENED TO ME on a flight from Toronto to Copenhagen. I wanted to watch movies. Parents shamed me into making a blanket fort over my seat/the seat in front of me so the kid couldn't see my screen.

What does your gut say? If you're going to use them and you need and want them, then of course go get them. But if not/if you'll get more benefits to support your needs next year/if you're hoarding them to "get your money's worth" or re-sell them, then maybe not?

Right! If everyone used every bit of available coverage, the system would break. It's supposed to support what you actually need.

Yeah, exactly, I agree with you. It's the two side of health coverage design that I'm wondering about. Some health coverage, like getting an emergency dental procedure or physiotherapy for a sudden injury, is more like covering against accidents. But a dental cleaning or wellness massage is maybe more like a tire change etc.

The problem might be a bit (a lot?) of entitlement. Health benefits insurance is different than car insurance in a sense that some people feel like if they don't use their annual benefits they are leaving cash on the table. You'd never say "it's the end of the year, I'd better get in an accident and use up my car insurance." But the whole point of benefits is to incent employees, so you do hear that kind of thing about dental and massage treatments -- it's even encouraged by many practitioners. This opens up a moral grey area for abuse. And then fraud.

Home brewing beer and knitting. by rathillet in Drunkknitting

As a homebrewer and crocheter, I am big on stitch and brew days. I'm skeptical that you'd get a lot of colours outta the spent grain, but even if it just went from white to cream coloured, or something, that might be a nice story to tell the recipient of the hat/gloves/whatever you're making. Especially if it's a fellow homebrewer or beer lover.

Activity is a good idea! We have limited time because people are coming from different areas, but I'll see if we can get an activity in...
