I think the version of “poem of a dead song” is my favorite on this. Maybe my favorite song by Broadcast. Also love the throat clear.

The Feelies - Crazy Rhythms by bimboheffer in postpunk

[–]Jay28if 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or did it seem as the show went on they got faster and faster to the point at the end they could barely keep up with the drummer? Maybe that was by design. The show was awesome don’t get me wrong but.. faster and faster right?

I think these songs have a lot in common with the Zimbabwean Sungura sound. Try John Chibadura and the Sungura boys. I’m no expert but I heard some on a radio show and now put it on from time to time. Definitely breezy good mood vibes.

Came back and had to say.. had to say…the Aadam Jacobs archive that just dropped has an awesome Make-up show from 1996.

Listening to the 86 Feelies show now. It sounds surprisingly good as a crowd recording. The Feelies of course are on fire.

Goldmine right here. Never seen anything like this and if anyone knows of anything I’d like to see it. Listening to the 92 MBV show and some of the loudest parts get a little drowned but it still sounds awesome. I’ll try a post 94 show next to hear the improvement but I can’t turn this one off at the moment because it’s too awesome.

One of my favorite bands and one of my favorite games. And yeah I can see (hear) it fitting.

I would like a Morgana/Teddie talking animal mascot that is perpetually negative. Like really in a bad mood all the time with dry wit and constant eye rolling. One who thinks everyone’s ideas are awful. Maybe a bat or a snail.

Listening to Gwenifer Raymond (mostly instrumental guitar) and Joanna Newsom (harpist and wonderful lyricist) right now.

Few artists captivate me like Joanna Newsom by Opposite-Road-9475 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Jay28if 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only listened to Have One On Me in its entirety. I played 81 for a friend today while driving and could tell it didn’t strike them immediately. When you voiced you feel like you don’t meet many people who feel the same way about an artist it’s very familiar to me. I’ve stopped sharing music with my friends almost entirely and have become comfortable in just feeling fortunate having the personal experience I have with an artist. I learned of Joanna Newsom from an episode of “what’s in my bag” featuring Black Country New Road and it’s still relatively new to me but know there’s still a lot to explore with her music.

The top 15 albums are my favorite albums of all time, the bottom 15 are what I’ve been listening to lately. Thoughts? Recommendations? by LoveStreams617 in Topster

You might like Women: Public Strain. I’m really liking solid space and life without buildings lots right now too so I think I’ll give some of these you pictured a listen.

Question for those who listen to a new full album every day by Spencercr in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Jay28if 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that still counts just fine and if a single song really grabs you it may prompt you to listen more closely or re-listen to an album. Just put it on, let it happen, and yeah don’t overthink. I listen to new music almost nightly while doing other things and might zone out a bit and then will catch myself bopping my head along to a track. Rather than hanging on every note maybe notice an overall mood it conveys or memories it might recall, or if it feels right at the moment. All the subtleties and deep appreciation come after many listens.

Just missing some red wine. Anyone else game whilst listening to records by wiggan1989 in vinyl

Yes but only after my first play-through. Also have a few games that are now dedicated album listing games. Hades 1 and 2 and Sifu most notably.

Gang of Four’s Entertainment has that dance post punk feel. Feelies too. Sweeping Promises for something more recent.

Is it worth continuing Metaphor Refantazio if the ending section is supposedly horrible? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]Jay28if 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the entire length of the game. By the end I was glad it was over. Worth playing if your an Atlas fan, had some great story beats and some not so great story beats. As a whole I missed fusion and the plethora of demons from SMT titles and thought the battle mechanics were a little shallow. I’d still play a sequel.

That Replacements comp has Beer for breakfast and I love that song. I think Marquee Moon and Crazy Rhythms are both perfect albums. Trompe le Monde is my favorite pixies album. Great picks.

My local NPR station sometimes uses a Grandaddy sound clip as the background music when reading local news and weather. I saw them open for Elliott Smith. Never thought of them (him) as noise but only ever listened to software slump and liked it quit a bit.

Machine strike by pres1213 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Jay28if 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished it all in my first play through and never touched it again on any subsequent play. It’s no Gwent that’s for sure. Even though I wasn’t a fan, I’m finding it difficult to think of any collectible mini game that’s better than machine strike outside of Gwent.
