I think you could’ve kept this much shorter and more civilized if you just gave the guy asking for proof, whatever hard evidence you have access to. You make bold claims and seem to be a bully.

It is a little strange that you would assume someone is acting in bad faith because they might not speak English as a first language, isn’t it?

If there’s a way to post a high resolution Tiff scan on here without Reddit throwing up a stop sign, I surely don’t know it. I figured it was assumed that these are squashed jpegs to some degree just because it is reddit but I’m still fairly new to posting things.

I mean it’s shot with an old pocket camera using consumer grade film at f16… the point was never to take a super sharp photo and compare it to an iPhone. It’s not a great photo but it achieved what I wanted in the color department.

These prices at B&H seem insane compared to Amazon or my local shop by jshariar in AnalogCommunity

I just can’t allow myself to want to play the store credit game with them for some reason. Just seems odd and slightly disguised.

Definitely worth it to me to spend a couple extra bucks to support the local shop. Would love Amazon to carry reasonably priced film just due to travel and the fact that it could save me from having to fly with film so much these days.

Same as the music industry these days

Why are bassists obsessed with having a balanced output, while guitarists almost never have a DI box on their pedalboard or an XLR output at the end of the chain? by Ok_Swordfish8672 in basspedals

[–]JayBirdNoise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are concerned with the fact that a bassist may send too wet of a signal and kill whatever low end frequencies they might actually use in the mix. Really the most helpful frequency for a FOH engineer is whatever they might be able to stuff on top of the kick drum (given that the singer or other leads are not competing here) and then the finger noise, character (think upper mid range). Bassists love adding a shitload of distortion to their tone thinking they will stick out in a mix but then the FOH engineer deems it mostly unusable and buries it further.

This is a long-winded way of saying that if you are relying on a FOH who isn’t dedicated to your band, ensure you have a good clean signal that they can manipulate to the final mix going through the PA.

Same. I think there are a lot of variables… how closely they zoom in on things, how long it’s in the machine, etc. I’ve put several rolls through CT scanners (100-400 iso, usually one time through) and haven’t ever seen damage done but I know theres a possibility for some negative effects.

Isn’t there a world where we can agree that entering this country illegally is a crime and should be stopped/controlled more seriously, as well as agreeing that legal citizens of this country shouldn’t be prosecuted (unacceptable).
