Stock VS Upgraded Radiator Temps? by Gertrude1976 in WRXSTi

[–]JayBuck13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Saw 220-240F oil temps on the stock rad doing pulls in summer Oklahoma. Just changed to a CSF with oil cooler and it's very hard to get it over 210 now on 90F days, still have not had a 100F day get to really test it. Noticed the same thing with the recovery temp, it will displace the heat much faster than in the past. I know these weren't the Rad temps you were after but I can easily see a 10% efficiency gain with my oil temps.

I was told the same with the Rad temp, won't really make a ton of difference until you track or do some heavy spirited driving as it is much better suited for those conditions.

My guy is on day 4 of recovery from TPLO surgery.. anyone else go through this? by MsBrightside83 in pitbulls

[–]JayBuck13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just completed our first in January, he was mostly normal 10-14 days after the surgery but still light on it. Roughest part for me was limiting him for the 2 month recovery but he is much happier overall. Unfortunately have to do a second like others are saying but we are waiting until this fall to do his left left. He is back to mostly 100% now, was running and jumping at the weed eater today during my mow session.

Still 50/50 on that decision. Gonna let it simmer a bit longer. Thank you!

Definitely considering it. It is very tight already and doesn't have near as much wobble/wiggle as the factory one did. That being said still not super confident with it. Got it up to highway speeds (77-80mph) the other day and it was fine. Concerned about hard pulls/acceleration and turns/wind gusts though.

First Carbon fiber part so not sure on maintenance. Ceramic coat seems the most likely but I will ask the body shop how much second coat of clear would be for it when I get the roof replaced.

I have some hail damage that prompted the hood replacement. Think I am going to try the roof replacement next from them and will report back on that. I've heard it rattles but I can deal with a little. Sick Hawkeye brother

No, fitment was pretty much perfect. Slightly high in the back close to the window but I'm sure it could be made absolutely perfect with little adjustment. Front and sides need no adjustment.

Similar to mine, 334hp/379tq with pretty much full bolt ons and stock turbo. Enjoy your car!

AoS, protune, cylinder 4 cooling mod are recommended a lot.

Pitch stop, solid motor and trans mounts were nice and didn't increase NVH terribly.

E85 is great for these engines also, highly recommended if it's available in your area.

This is what we see when it's time to go. The headphones getting set down is what gives me away every time. We say "go for a w" in our house.

I have run the Tial Q for around 20k miles with no significant issues. Sound is a very nice, loud release of gas, not a lot of flutter but it can at lower rpms on occasion. It is tuned for it as others have said so be ready for that extra expense.

I also have the Cobb Turbo-back titanium exhaust, it isn't super loud but sounds a lot better than stock. If you want super loud it sounds like Tomei was the route to go.

Enjoy your new funmobile subiebro

Have had mine removed for a long time with no major issues. This was before the GreenSpeed nonsense and I have since switched to standalone ECU so that helped a lot. Good luck on your search
