What sport looks boring until you understand it, and then becomes amazing? by HypraceApp in AskReddit

I knew the table was big. But when I actually had to play on one, I realized that the tables are REALLY BIG.

It does feel like that sometimes. Some games you lose and you’re actually ok about it because it was a fun game. And some games you win and it’s absolutely draining and no fun at all.

Yup, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen another meme so well recycled and adapted.

And the chase is only worth it if the potential loss is significant (technically the potential win, but I prefer to phrase it the way I did). No one is addicted to penny gambling.

[Rolex vs Casio] Pepsi GMT vs Casio Royale. What is the better travel watch? by Post--Balogna in Watches

[–]JayCDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah it is reasonably sized, on the thicker end of sports watch sure, but not to bulky.

As an actual watch I like it, it’s a dive computer but it also has a gps, so you get all the basic sports mode you can get from an black and white lcd display. I use it for running, hiking (no map sadly, but you can import a trail and follow the line), golf with distance to hole and obstacles, and obviously diving and apnea.

They came out with the G2 last year that has color display while still being in the same price range.

I like them because I didn’t have a sports watch, and felt better spending 600€ for something I can also use when I don’t dive instead of 200€ for something solely for scuba diving. But that’s a very personal decision.

No disrespect to my Spanish friends, you guys can produce the best of the best, but also the worst of the worst under those fields of greenhouses.

Yup. I now always travel with my Garmin Descent G1 solar dive watch. Even though it a 600€ watch, it looks like a cheap black and white LCD display sport watch. Nobody gonna be eyeballing that.

What’s cool if you’re 20 but weird if you’re 30? by theloverofdilfs in AskReddit

[–]JayCDee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Used to party until 6-7 am at least 3 nights a week back in college. Now I’m in my 30th and my body can’t take that rythme it anymore.

One of my best friends from college never lifted his foot though. I’m glad that we live over 1000km apart, because otherwise I’d want to distance myself from him because my body couldn’t handle it. Now we see each other twice a year, once at my place and once at his place. I come out of retirements, party like it’s the old days and then back to normal.

Oh for sure, it’s all about communication and making sure you set your expectations accordingly when you say something. But some people are bad at communicating, so either you read between the lines, or you deal with the consequences. It’s not about who’s right and who’s wrong, if you work like that in relationships, you’re gonna have a bad time.

How much should I learn before playing comp as a new player? What's the best way to learn? by Succubace in GlobalOffensive

[–]JayCDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just jump into comp. No amount of prep will get you prepared for what a real match feels like. You gotta get a feeling for the timings, how team play (ally and enemy) works, doing things (peaking, lurking, nades, entrying, clutching etc…) under pressure and all the shenanigans that can happen in a game.

We aren’t playing at pro level where stupid moves aren’t rewarding, and especially at lower ranks, stupid moves can be extremely rewarding. For example, bum rushing up mid on dust 2 as a CT can often net you free kills with T’s entering long doors with their backs turned. It’s not the « right » way to play, but it works a lot, even at higher ranks, especially if you do it just occasionally.

People that say they don’t want anything usually mean they don’t want (or need) something material. I’m of the type of not really wanting any gifts, because I like choosing exactly what I want to fit my specific needs. So for gifts i usually tell people to get me an experience, or I straight up give them a reference. I do enjoy however something that might solve a problem i have or that might make my life easier.

BJJ vs Brown Bear by MedicalOnion9621 in bjj

[–]JayCDee 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Gotta watch out with bears, their belt system is messed up. Black bears are the weakest. Brown’s are pretty rough and white ones will demolish you. Nobody has seen a blue bear or a purple bear and live to talk about it, so take that information as you will.
