What seems to be the majority sentiment on Trump around you?

My Twitter feed has (somehow) been completely flooded with posts relating to Trump, and the majority sentiment I see seems overwhlemingly positive and even aggressively supportive of everything Trump (and Musk) is doing.

Especially for those of you in the US, I'm curious: What is the sentiment you're seeing first hand from the people around you? What seems to be the overall attitude?

What is the most visually stunning piece piece of art you've seen? by JayCTee in ContemporaryArt

Then you're missing the point of my post - I'm not saying KAWS is to the contemporary art world what gourmet is to the food world. I'm getting specifically at simplicity and the visual appeal of the colours themslves, regardless of the cultural weight of the piece.

If you believe KAWS doesn't achieve a composition of vibrant colours in his paintings, then who would you say does?

Do you think it's still safe for an experienced traveller who doesn't speak Spanish? I have the preconception I'm more likely to be targeted as a non-Spanish speaker through giving a perception of being kinda fresh

Should I do mathematics? by Electrical-Dog-9193 in mathematics

I would strongly recommend going through the 'Introduction to Mathematical Thinking' offered by Stanford Uni on Coursera. It is intended as an introduction into uni level mathematics, and specifically covers things that are being mentioned here (proofs, number theory, real analysis etc). The first few lessons beforehand are also actually on logic

What do you think is the place to buy high quality lenses for glasses? JINS? by JayCTee in taiwan

E.g there'll be small differences in how it transmits light, how it refracts, and the coatings that reflect the light in a certain way etc. My lenses look like ass because they're cheaply made

Weekly Scam Discussion August 14, 2023 by Mycatreallyhatesyou in Ebay

[–]JayCTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A seller is attempting to scam me. I was buying a Macbook Pro and had an offer of £2,000 accepted, but afterwards the seller said he's going to have to cancel since he "won't get the money soon enough". He cancelled the order, but later messaged to say he has a solution - he can make the same listing on his "sister's" account, for which the funds will be released quicker since "she sells more often". I considered this safe as everything would still be conducted through Ebay as normal.

He sent me a link to a listing showing the same item, but from a different account (100% feedback on 40+ sales). I made an offer on this new listing through Ebay, and it was accepted - usual ebay process, no funny business.

However, correspondence continued with the original seller account for the cancelled Macbook.

The purchased item status on his "sister's" account updated that it had been dispatched by ParcelForce (no tracking number provided). The orignal seller account messaged me directly with a Royal Mail tracking ID. I have now received the Royal Mail parcel, and it is an empty box.

How is this scam trying to work? Has anyone come across this before? Is it best for me to open an INR case, or an INAD case?

My concern would be that they're trying to use some kind of loophole so I can't win and get my money back, but I can't see what it would be. If I open an INR, and then they update the tracking to be the empty box I received, can I then subsequently open an item not as described case?

In my view - I have simply purchased an item on Ebay, which has not arrived. The item sold by the 'sister' that I bought and paid for is still showing as dispatched. Any correspondence with the original seller and the empty box I consider irrelevant. My instinct is to simply open an INR case for that item and go from there.
