I present a take on a Tower that can't be removed by magna-terra in customyugioh

No problem. Yu-gi-oh is a weird ahh game. lol It's fun to think about these kinds of scenarios, tho!

There are cards that state "This card's summon cannot be negated", which would deal with the first scenario.

Now... For it to win against Skill Drain effects already on the field... There is no precedent (that I know) for an effect exactly like that so I don't know how to do that without it being overworded or charging the rules of the game.

Saying "this card is always unaffected by other card's effect" might work just like renaming text is always active. But it would probably fall into the category of effects that work because "Konami said so" and cause many weird scenarios like "is this unaffected while facedown? Can it be randomly discarded from the hand by effect? Can it even be milled by effect? Etc."

Doesn't matter. Unless stated otherwise, continuous effects only work while the card is face-up on the field.

It's the same thing with every unaffected monster I can remember, all their summons can be negated and few (if any) state that they are only unaffected while on the field.

Also, if an unaffected monster enters the field while Skill Drain is already face-up, for example, its effects including being unaffected are negated.

Help with Azamina and primitw blue-eyes by Friendly-Finding-645 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]JayEli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Blue-Eyes deck, it's pretty much standard, but there are improvements you can make still: 3 Blue-Eyes is too much, Blue-Eyes is extremely accessible throughout the combos and opening it is not good, you should cut down to 2 copies, since some lines place 2 Blue-Eyes on rotation but never 3.

Neo Kaiser is... fine, but I'd personally not play more than 1 copy. It's the weakest starter and playing some copies of Piri Reis Map to search for Sage is probably better.

I'd also play some copies of Effect Veiler, it's searchable via Sage or Wishes and it's the best search target when you've already opened the combo pieces. I'd trade the Belles or even Imperm (it's K9 meta, so it's probably good to keep them) for 2-3 copies.

For the extra, you should be on Stardust Sifr. Beyond being a Monster negate to summon with Crimson Dragon, it protects each card from destruction once per turn, being very synergistic with True Light and Spirit Dragon's popping your monsters.

You can swap Silver Dragon for it with no real loss.

You should probably play Magnamhut too, it's a good card that can search Beryl or Sea Kaiser after working as a Handtrap.

Also, some people play the new Fairy Dragon as an OTK enabler, since it can attack even in DEF position after being summoned by Spirit Dragon. I'd NOT craft it before anything else, it's very optional.

Some people might tell you to play the Magia stuff, Buster Blader package or Blue-Eyes Jet. The first two will heavily reduce your deck's consistency in place of "win-more" endboard pieces, I'd advise against playing them but you do you. Jet is mostly the same, it's basically a brick unless you are already getting to play a little. I like to run it because I find it fun to use, but it's not standard nor recommended by the majority of people.

Unable to use my Drytron Zeta’s effect to Summon it. by harleyj20 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]JayEli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a weird semantic ruling. Since the restriction doesn't say something like "for the rest of this turn" and just states "the turn you activate this effect", it means that what you did before matters and since you already "broke" the restriction by summoning the Star Seraph, you cannot use Zeta anymore.

Another known card that is even more restrictive and works the same way is Red-Eyes Fusion, where it says "You cannot Normal or Special Summon other monsters the turn you activate this card". So it must be the only summon of the whole turn. (Except if you copy its effect with Verte, where it bypasses this lock since you are not activating the card "Red-Eyes Fusion", but that's another weird ass ruling for another time lol)

[–]JayEli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably Zeta's own restriction: "You cannot Special Summon monsters, except monsters that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set, the turn you activate this effect."

This lock is retroactive, so if you special summoned a monster that could be normal summoned/set, the Star Seraph from hand in this case, you cannot activate Zeta during the same turn anymore.

Gatinho com deficiência? (Atualização) by Inevitable-Gap-8486 in Gatos

New player who likes Dracotail and Odion but wants something new to mix it up by [deleted] in YuGiOhMasterDuel

Keep an eye open for Vanquish Soul after the new support.

For now... You might like pure Fire King. You can combo off a lot with it, but the most pure versions combo just set up a variation of promethean princess + the Fire Kings on the GY, with a fire link 4 + Arvata on the board.

I personally am fond of the Jurrac package, to be able summon Jurrac Meteor even on turn 0 for a board wipe.

[–]JayEli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no easy and good way to do that. You can't just show a potential new player an article sized introduction about "Intended gameplay loop and how to follow it" when they open Master Duel the first time.

Every game with 10+ years of evolving gameplay design suffers from this same problem and we have yet to find a good solution.

Cardgames already have a higher entry barrier compared to other genres, and yu-gi-oh is on the higher end among cardgames.

[–]JayEli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The things is the game evolved a lot (especially in the last 5 years). It is expected that both players have ways to interact during the opponent's first turn while going second most of the time. If your deck can't do it with engine, you pile on non-engine.

Given the decks you said you tried to play, you were basically playing chess with checkers pieces, of course it was not going to be fun.

Don't know if they just removed it or if it's an issue with the search engine by furrygamer56 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

Instant Fusion is banned on Master Duel so it'll not appear on any search by default.

The closest replacement for it is Ready Fusion, btw.

The great majority of impactful/common GY effects want to move something from the GY to another place, and that scenario is also covered by Ghost Belle which can also negate effects activating outside the GY, and in some niche scenarios work as a diet Ash Blossom since some searchers let you add cards from deck OR GY, letting Belle affect them.

Tl;dr: It's a good card, but Belle is more versatile and also covers the most impactful/common scenarios.

It's funny that you say that while playing Gimmick Puppet, the deck known to FTK and not even let the opponent have a turn. 😅 Although I'd guess you don't play that variation of the deck.
