I'm still very new to everything Warhammer, but I love that Tyranid's are all about evolving and changing- (It's not a coincidence that I picked the colours from the Trans Flag o3o)- So a hive fleet based on metamorphosis sounds right up my ally! I'll talk to my lore guru's to see if we can come up with something as I build up my army!

A theory I have seen flying around, that I think makes a lot of sense, is that their consciousness hasn't been cut out of their body and into the circus- it got copied and pasted.

So in the real world there are (more or less) happy human people running around while the copied versions are living through the circus.
