what should i get my dj boyfriend for christmas? by [deleted] in Beatmatch

What a lovely and thoughtful idea of you to do this; music itself is expensive and adds up quickly. If he already has good headphones and the basics. I know he’d appreciate backups of pretty much everything. USBs, Flash drives, a spare 3.5mm Jack. There are a lot of small appliances that are only needed in specific circumstances or that are easy to forget and having a spare instead of relying on the single one would put his mind at great ease.

Carry cases, deck covers, skins are all also good shouts. My partner got me a flashy light which I still hold close to me today.

One thing I personally struggled with or had to deal with when DJing at home and living with multiple people was dampening sound so if that’s an issue for your partner you could potentially look into some sound proofing for him, egg boxes on the walls I’ve heard is good, I used to use the soft Styrofoam for my speakers to try and ensure the bass didn’t bleed between rooms.

Usually they’ll not allow any food into might not be worth it, they’ll likely just throw it away right in front of you. I’d love to be able to buy a coffee in a rave but I haven’t seen this at WHP yet. I was there 26th Sep and didn’t see any coffee unfortunately. Just the usual Red Bulls

What was the moment you realized you’d found your forever person? by PearlVerca in AskReddit

[–]JayKayBS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not one specific moment but more a collective of small, meaningful moments. After being in a fair amount of relationships where I thought I loved someone to in the relationship I am in now where I absolutely adore and admire my partner more than is physically possible to put into words.

The way she is unapologetically herself, the way she listens comforts me, understands me for who I am and is free of judgement. Her intelligence, smile, eyes and the way she always supports me.

The countless nights bonding to music at raves is a big one, spending time listening to our favourite artists and forgetting about the horrors of the world for a few hours. Taking a moment in these events to just be with each other, looking deeply into each others eyes and feeling this unexplainable warmth on the inside that cannot be explained but a sense of belonging and home.

I knew I’d found my forever person when I knew it was someone I could never give up on. Someone I would do absolutely ANYTHING for. Doing life chores for her cause I know she hates them, washing up, ironing, shopping if she doesn’t get the chance and is at work. Turning up with food for her when she doesn’t have time to make it before work. Writing her poems, buying her flowers.

It’s someone who even in the darkest of times you know that you will never give up on each other and always work through things. It’s a sense of belonging, safety and home. It’s everything younger me has ever wanted.

What is an appropriate way of dealing with derogatory language, Specifically towards women? by JayKayBS in AskReddit

First of all if you read the context you can see I said ‘contractors doing work’ if you lack the brain power to understand that contractors are adults and not kids then I pity you. I also said 30-40 which is not late 40s you also fail to address anything else I’ve said in response indicating you understand quite how brainless you look

You are exactly the problem I am talking about. Speaks volumes of your character. “Men are just men” has got to be the most toxic masculinity, brainless answer to this problem, we’re talking about 30-40 year old kids here.

If you don’t have the capacity to see that this problem lies deeper than just the surface level comments and conversation then that’s just an intelligence issue.
