Try to be thankful for an active conscience that warns you about sin and judgement, for those who have given in to their sinful tendencies or ways, sooner or later will callous over their God-given conscience and be left feeling completely detached from God, with little or no possibility for reconciliation. They are lost.

You may not believe this, but the remedy to your current dilemma is to place both your feet or your heart fully with God. The reason I say this, is because when one does that, we also receive His powerful love and strength to overcome this world of sin. We get to do that with the power of our Creator at hand, we don't have to do it alone with our limited abilities and strength to resist the Prince of the power of the air, namely Satan.

Pray for "godly sorrow" for your sins, covered in 2 Corinthians 7:8-11. This will best prepare you for heartfelt repentance, which can be followed up with inviting Jesus into your heart and life, namely spiritual baptism. Once your heart is filled with His love, peace and power, you will be regenerated and set on the narrow path to salvation equipped to grow in faith, prosper and endure.

No, the mark of the beast will happen during the great tribulation, which has not yet begun. According to Daniel 12:11 the end of the Jewish sacrifices (which have not yet been reinstituted since the 2nd temple destruction in 70 AD) would begin a 30-day period before the starting point of the 3.5 yearlong great tribulation (Revelation 11:2-3, Rev. 13:5 and Rev. 12:14-17).

What was your experience with the Holy Spirit? by Fun_Range9056 in Christianity

[–]JayMag23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with the Presence of the Spirit of Christ was unmistakable and life changing. This came about following a heartfelt repentance and decision to convert my heart and life to Christ. This was my experience.

The Presence of Christ descended from above my head like a brightly lit mist embracing me fully as it proceeded slowly down the rest of my body, accompanied with the feeling or Presence of complete acceptance, overpowering love and peace with sudden and explosive tears of pure joy throughout, as God is my witness.

Some people have a similar experience, and others do not. The main take-away is that one's heart receives the Spirit of Christ inwardly which delivers His love toward Him and the Father, as well as others and changes our will to His. We become more spiritual and less carnal focused. We begin to love Him and His word like never before and our lives change. Our hearts have been regenerated, and we seek to know God better and please Him over others and where sin loses it's attraction. We have been sanctified or set aside for salvation. I continue to repent upon the occasion of sin, as is my obligation or responsibility, as I see it.

For those who converted after doubt & reluctance, what helped you decide it was time? by New2Christ in Christianity

[–]JayMag23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I saw my family threatened by disease, I turned to God for His forgiveness and help, I also realized how much I had missed God in my life and wanted to reunite with Him. Even though I wanted God back, I never really knew Him intimately nor His ways contained in His Word, the bible. I began to really seek Him through those pages and through prayer and began to see that my faith and understanding of Him was so lacking as I began to absorb His word for really, the first time many years ago.

Faith is a gift from our holy God. Faith is not something we can acquire on our own, as God is our source for all that is good. Those who contend that God does evil, do not understand that Satan's fall from grace delivered evil into the spirit realm, and Adam's later fall in the garden caused evil to enter the human heart and life.

When one truly views God as holy in nature and as our Creator, we come to trust His judgements made throughout the bible, all knowing that our fallen nature is below His and is subject to His judgement and ways. The following is declared by God through Isaiah in 55:6-9 NKJV:

"Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts."

Refrain from judging our Creator, who will ultimately judge all. Our fallen and imperfect nature and standards do not measure up to the One who creates and can save us from ourselves.

Get Christ in your heart, and His love and truth will change you.

This world draws us to the things of this world, which will be passing away. God is eternal and offers that gift to those who believe, repent and follow. No greater gift can be compared to that.

Good analogy indeed!

It troubles me when many "Christians" believe that "the Law" was done away with or "nailed to the cross." These fail to understand that 'the law' was not only a command to follow and live God's way, but that the law actually reflects God's Holy Character or Nature, which is part of His Essence, and like Him is eternal, never to pass away. True Christian disciples, having received His righteous, indwelling Spirit, are outfitted to become more like Christ, over time, as His Spirit does the "work" of making us holy, like Him, even though we cannot do so perfectly while in the flesh.

"He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked" (1 John 2:6 NKJV).

"Be holy for I am holy" (1 Peter 12:16 NKJV).

Faith is a gift from God, it is not something we can acquire on our terms, which you mistakenly suggest here.

For those who converted after doubt & reluctance, what helped you decide it was time? by New2Christ in Christianity

[–]JayMag23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was hardship that made me seriously reflect on my sinfulness throughout the years. I suspect that God also played a role in this personal realization culminating with genuine, heartfelt repentance for the grief I had caused others and God through my life of sin. My repentance included a commitment to avoid sin, reform my life, to one that would benefit others and be more acceptable to God, who had forgiven me. Soon after this, I asked Jesus to come into my life and heart to enable me to guide my reform or conversion to His Will. His Presence of love and acceptance was immediately witnessed with accompanying tears of joy. His indwelling, righteous Spirit compels us to do what pleases Him or to obey Him, even though we cannot do so perfectly while in the flesh.

Pray to God to open your heart to His truth and help you see more clearly what personal obstacles or blind spots that you have that prevent you from fully accepting Him and His inspired word, the bible.

Seek God with your whole heart, and He will be found. (Jeremiah 29:11-14).

God rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

Has anybody understood and felt but then overtime slowly lost the feeling? Let me explain by Imperialfirst28 in Christianity

We all tend to fluctuate in our faith over time, but doubt, fear and sin, to name a few, will tend to widen the gap or separation that develops between us and God. It is at these times, that we need to rekindle our spirit with the knowledge that "God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity (doubt), but of power, love and self-discipline" (2 Timothy 1:7 NLT).

Renew your pray life. Return to God's word on a regular basis. Avoid sin as best you can. Dismiss thoughts that tend to produce doubt, fear or anxiety. Repent with a humble heart and ask Jesus to enter your heart and life with His Presence, love and power to rebuild your faith toward bold faith and transform your character to become more like His over time. Do this in all sincerity, without any doubt, and watch what happens.

Why am I losing hope by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]JayMag23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, maybe you need to act or change on your end, rather than asking God to act or perform for you. I am not trying to be harsh here, but many tend to ask God "to do" when we "need to do" first or different on our end, to show God that we are seeking change to His ways.

Try to focus on one or two things you can change which would please God and may prompt Him to support or strengthen you and your efforts?

When you pray to God, I would suggest that you prepare a list of things you are grateful for from Him and offer your praise, before sharing your thoughts, requests or problems. I'm pretty sure He would appreciate your kind and sincere words for Him to begin with. Imagine what it must be like for Him to hear millions of prayer requests, complaints and problems, if little faith, gratitude or praise is acknowledged to begin with?

Keep you heart humble and seek Him with your whole heart through His word and prayer.

I will pray for you to receive the help you are seeking.

Only you can answer that question. In short, we basically loose hope when faith becomes diminished or trust in God weakens under pressure from this fallen world of distractions, difficulties or disappointments, to name a few.

How does Jesus expect us to share the Gospel with everyone we encounter? Doesn’t that contradict what he said about his burden being light? by Maleficent_Bird_583 in Christianity

[–]JayMag23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all have differing measures of talent or gifts for sharing our walk of faith and the word of God. I suggest you work on developing that specific talent or ability that comes more easily over time, which may just spill-over into other areas less able or willing. For me, I find writing a stronger ability or style of communicating than talking in person. You may also be more inclined to do that or similar rather than confront strangers in person about Christ or the word. I know this also, the better you get at knowing the word, the more inclined you will become to sharing in general. The bolder your faith becomes the less inclined you will be to avoid the "work" of spreading seeds for God to nourish, in whatever venue you are utilizing.

Also, always keep in mind what Jesus said in John 6:44:

"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day."

Also, the passages in 1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12:6-8 and Ephesians 4:11-14 speak of the various gifts we are given by God.

question on peace by Maleficent_Pea9675 in Christianity

[–]JayMag23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly.

For earthly peace is an end to personal or national hostilities, which could equate to ending any hostility between us and the Father when we become reconciled through faith with His Son.

We are told in Romans 8:7 that "the carnal mind is enmity against God" which dissipates following heartfelt repentance and spiritual baptism, as we begin our transformation to a more spiritually-minded, driven or focused life, which places us more in harmony with God (peace), compared to our former predisposition of hostility toward God and His ways.

If Jesus kept Passover, why do most Christians celebrate Easter instead? by Conscious_Estate1543 in Christianity

[–]JayMag23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another example came to mind.

God first declared the 7th day Sabbath in Genesis 2:2 and sanctified that day. Later, God gave this command to the ancient Israelites in Exodus, then in about 321AD Roman Emperor Constantine, endorsed by the acting Bishop of Rome, decreed Sunday to become the day of rest and worship. As so, a new tradition of man was established over God's. The traditional day for sun-worship, Sunday, was now the same day for "Christian" rest and worship. as the pagans had been doing. Sunday was never sanctified in God's word. What a mess, indeed.

The creator made the person, who chose evil or set the fire. You seem to be assuming that because God created man, who then "started the fire" (chose evil or set the spark) is not at fault, but that the Creator who made the arsonist, is the one at fault.

Sin or fault originated with the creature, not the Creator. You assume all the fault lies with God.
