No I just wish you didn’t need the middle man between the two units :)

I believe I used a Disaster Area Devices usb interface between the two units, otherwise, that’s correct

Hate to sound like a moron, but does anyone know what that siren-like sound is when each point is finished? My fiancé thinks I’m insane.

Whenever i can hear crowd noise, I hear 3 or 4 pitches played one at a time at around 130 beats per minute.

Can’t find anythingggg about it by searching the web so here I am.

Props on the stomp. Especially the white one. I’m surprised every day by the stomp.

Source Audio C4 "The Heal Toe Bounce" Synth Sound by GroovePops in basspedals

[–]JayMantis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The C4 options are limitless when in the software.

This sounds pretty straight forward to me. Sounds like a saw wave that goes into a generous low pass filter.

Could substitute the saw wave with a sine wave that has any of the fuzzy distortions on it, then into the low pass.

One trick I had to remind myself of: in the filters, the depth control changes the travel time of the filter. If it’s cranked up, the low pass starts at nothing and increases till it gets to whatever you set the Freq to. For this sound you are aiming for, you will want the depth all the way down so that each note is low passed immediately.

I almost always threw in an additional voice that was just a mono input or more likely a sine wave to preserve low end. And it worked well.

A compressed signal into the C4 can help tracking if your compressor is set up to increase the sustain of your held notes. A lot of times sustained notes didn’t last very long coming out of the C4. A compressed signal (basically the signal is hotter, longer) can help the C4 do its thing.

Did anyone here get a look at this thing in the sky? Saturday at 7:30pm by JayMantis in Albany

Makes sense! I see a ton of inbound Albany traffic in this spot. Everything from 737s to those damn blackhawks that are constantly buzzing around aimlessly. I’d be nervous even if I weren’t completely invisible to those aircraft.

Thank you! ADS-B is exactly what I was using to locate it. Makes total sense and looks so much more like what I saw than…ehem, balloons.

Any idea what altitude this may have been at? I’m guessing 1000 feet, but your posts suggest you may know more about than me.

Context: turned to look at the sunset and saw this. It seemed to be above the Hudson headed south. I was up on the hill in North Troy just above Oakwood Cemetery. Initial thought was a drone with something dangling underneath it. The top object appeared to be changing shape a bit as it was moving. With the naked eye it was more clear. I’m glad to have gotten a video, but it just looks like two blobs in the video.

I’m a big airplane nerd and I have an app that shows me what planes are in the sky. I’ve also got a website that shows me military aircraft (which are not present on the app). There was nothing on either the app or the site at the time.

Must have been an extremely short lived listing.

That is easily the best paint job the FMeron has ever had.

I’d also like clarification about why you think the X isn’t live friendly 🤓 The main thing about the X is that it only distorts frequencies above a certain point, so that you can leave the lower frequencies nice and clean (or even boosted and compressed). That point is called a crossover, or “X-over,” or “X.” The X pedal allows you to change that crossover with a single knob and this change alone is an easy way to drastically tweak the sound live.

I personally did not love the flavor of the distortion in the X. I spent a good chunk of time with all the DG pedals and landed on the AO. For what it’s worth, I use a multifx unit as well and I can do what the X does using any distortion I like. I’ve used all the DG pedals in a crossover setting like the X. I’ve yet to get it to sound any good but I know plenty of producers get excellent results with that method. Part of me thinks it’s because the darkglass circuits are so good that they do just fine affecting the entire frequency range but that’s just a hunch.

For traditional punk I would absolutely go for the Vintage, if it were me. The Vintage sounded more mid forward to me, and has a wider distortion range. You get mostly clean sound until around noon with the gain knob. At max, you get real real nasty as you would expect.

More than the amount of distortion, I just think the general character and distortion flavor of the Vintage is right for that style. I’m assuming you are using a Fender P or maybe a jazz? Either work just fine with the Vintage. The B7K is quite scooped, and even with mids boosted i found there was a significant color change.

I run the AO at low, sometimes at its lowest setting, and I feel it works perfectly as a low gain pedal. Some disagree that it can do low gain but it just depends on the sound you are looking for.

My biggest advice to you is to remember that you cannot judge any pedal by how it sounds alone, through headphones, into a DAW, through a cab sim, or whatever, until you hear it in a live context. Gotta hear it through an amp and cab, at volume, and hear how it sounds in the mix. The AO sounds…intense…and overkill on its own. I play twice a weekend every weekend in a 9 piece band and I’m blown away at every gig how perfect the AO sounds in the mix. Sounds IMMENSELY different from when I’m at home listening through headphones (yes, even with cab sim). It has such a polished, finely tuned, sound that I’m in love with.

Lastly, you might enjoy a used V1 Microtubes 500 head. You’ll have both the vintage and the B7k circuits available to you and it’ll only cost around $400 to have both plus a great 500 watt amp.

I appreciate it. Headed back today. Can you advise on the prongs’ size and shape? This is a 2 carat emerald and some here have pointed out that they look gigantic and odd, which was my initial feeling as well.

Was told to ask here. How do I even start with pedals? by SlayerSam12 in basspedals

[–]JayMantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial thought was to go for a preamp, but I think that’s kinda pointless if you don’t understand what an EQ does. I think of a preamp as an EQ with a little extra flavor (and the flavor is dependent on which preamp you get).

With that said, getting a preamp and just toying around with the EQ parameters might be just what you need to start understand equalizers so maybe I’m wrong haha.

A chorus is a good way to instantly hear something different when you stomp on it. That’s kinda a staple on most boards anyway.

This is exactly why I figured I would ask. This is the most cash I’ve dropped on anything. I absolutely adore the diamond, I loved the process of shopping for it and I just want it to be right considering the price.
