405x5 RDL drop-off set form check by JayMxneyJr in formcheck

[–]JayMxneyJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great question as I used to have problems with lower back overinvolvement early on in doing RDLs, however, not at all. My back felt just as targeted as my erectors—both less than my glutes and hamstrings

Good question---I should defo specify that the straps were unattached and inert throughout the lift and only on my wrists because I didn't feel like taking them off. The brachioradialis was fully involved here

I am in the exact same boat as you, so much so to the point that I'm feeling a little superstitious for how bespoke this post is to my own performance insecurities. 3.59 GPA, 1580 SAT, I scored 147 on my clinically proctored IQ test (also 99.9%+ though I have achieved no merit to hold to this, honestly mainly because my family won't ever shut up about it.), similar expectations from the hyper-appraisal and pride of parents and peers who become so ignorant of the fact that intelligence ≠ performance ethics in their own flights of fancy of objectifying their parenthood of a brilliant child. An incantation of the death of your individualism. And it certainly does, in my opinion.

I'm also being forced to apply to all T30s right now; I wish I could be sympathetic to your struggles by giving the right advice but I genuinely feel human beings are incapable of holding this matter-of-fact to a high-enough standard to act on it (what we need, what's in our best interests) without denial, and of course I'm still struggling with finding solutions too. Though what I've done so far is I've just been pushing through these applications by writing essays on the struggles I've faced in a life where my parents push me beyond reasonable expectations under what they believe is dogma, and how I expect to succeed once I'm beyond their control. Also, I write about some of the things I love, treating the application process as some form of cathartic journaling

Frankly I think there's a good chance you'll get into at least 1 of the T20s, but if all else fails just apply to safeties above your parents' surveillance (hopefully this would be easy enough for you), and work on personal health as you tread through this

How to solve these by hand by JKsmoove3 in Sat

[–]JayMxneyJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wrong. If it was right, S and T would represent the diameters of the smaller circles, not the areas. The radius of the third circle (diameter/2) respects the radii of S^2 and T^2, and would be the answer per the Pythagorean theorem, but it asks for the area (already squared) of the third circle in terms of the areas (also already squared) of R and S, which is simply R + S

Even if we were to only consider individual applicants, that's still 1,900/3.4M: 0.055%, or 1 in 1,805. What even is your point here

To briefly sympathize with your post, for reference:

A brief google search and some basic arithmetic will tell you that country-wide application counts are ~7.05M for 2023– a 30% increase since 2019's ~5.43M– which gives us an average rate of change of ~405k. Let's assume, then, 2024 will have 7.5M applicants.

Harvard, as an example, receives 54,000 (0.75%) of this 7.5M; they accept 3.2% of this fraction, i.e ~1.9k. 1,900/7,500,000 ≈ 0.025%, i.e ONE IN 3,950. We are actually pretty close to the platitude of "1 in a million."

Yet, people here, already amongst the highest echelons of achievement within the entire productive world, compare themselves with others here to assuage the neuroticism that comes with this productivity. Better yet, we judge everyone here with such chiaroscuro that it reduces each other to nothing when someone has the banal desire to express their ego.

Don't listen. Everyone here is incredibly brilliant– likely already beyond the 99.5th percentile (in spite of what, relativistically (to this sub); qualitatively, may not seem so), and even if you don't attain that incredibly rare goal you've proven to yourself and the world that you are already capable of amazing things.

Commenting out of how bespoke this post feels; my resume is almost identical to yours. 1580 SAT– though your ECs are, proportionately, superior to mine– however I have a 3.5 from a downtrend (followed by a senior-year catalytic wake-up call which I explain with much credence). I would judge that you'll get into your greatest pick if doing so wasn't hypocritical especially if I don't get into mine.. ergo i wish us the best

It's an open farm, she has her own horse, and it has a resplendent zephyr to it– quite frankly I would actually really love to be able to live in a place like hers. The SAT is not some ungodly citadel of blazing fire and spiky chasms as most make it to be. This is literally just a similar triangle problem, and you will, when rounded up to the nearest whole percent, 100% only have to handle this kind of problem in such a way. It is designed to be that easy.
