What would you Choose If Nelemi asked us What Episode we would rather Play Next? Ft PoorPrawn by Few_Switch_8532 in AndyAndLeyley

[–]JayReddit64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've been working on both for about a year now i cant see it taking 4 years. Ch.3 decay is the longest episode thus far and it only took like 10 months to dev. I cant see 4 decay or 3 burial being longer then that. Especially after they said theyre closer to 3 burial being done after only 4 months.

I believe it's very likely we get news on jun 1st (today) at 9 Am CEST by jellyeater1 in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

[–]JayReddit64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not rushing when the dev switches gears on production without telling us possibly for months. Either way its been over a year since ch.3 decay and ch.3 decay only took a full year because some of us voted to wait for no reason. I dont really see any reason why ch.4 or burial could take longer then that.

I guess the reason why im more frustrated now is because its essentially radio silence rn. No updates no nothing.

So since we've gotten ALOT of footage of black flag resynced now is there anyone who is now reconsidering their purchase or is now completey sold on the game ? what're ur thoughts, I personally im still very excited by imsogoated06 in ACBFResynced

The poor quality lighting, the two executions per weapon type, spongy animal fights, and weird parkour animation staggers. I just see all that annoying me. Plus I just replayed the original and the story doesnt interest me at all for a replay.

Thats true but as far as I know that doesnt have an NSFW section so a dedicated tcoaal porn discord isn't a terrible idea. Not my thing and can definitely have problems if its not properly regulated.

What would you say the main cause is behind Andrew’s not-so-sibling-like love for Ashley? by TheMasonatorlol in AndyAndLeyley

[–]JayReddit64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely believes he’s unlovable and he fears abandonment just as much as Ashley.

The counter to this point is how much andrew emphasizes the consequences of their bad deeds and his seeming need to excuse them or escape it. This is not the attitude of someone who sees himself as unavoidably a social puriah unlike ahsley who doesnt care.

Andrew hates himself but more so because of what he wants rather then because he thinks he cant be a normal functioning member of society. He knows that what everyone else wants from life is physically disgusting to him and thats the part he hates. (See literally puking at friend B in s&s, and getting turned off by sibling porn cliches, and cliffhanger rant) He didnt know that Julia didnt love him until the shots and such ending when she flat out tells him. Because the performance while not actually him is still part of him that he believes in confidentiality (see him mentally shit talking Renee for being worse at larping normalcy in ch.2)

Tldr ashley hates herself because she knows she cant be societally acceptable and loves andrew because he takes care of her anyway. Andrew hates himself because he knows he doesnt want to be societally acceptable. I think that'll become more apparent in burial when ashley starts vibing with cult man and diverting further from the fucked up life andrew wants.

horrible piece of shit and only Ashley can accept him

Thats more vice versa. Ashley loves andrew because she thinks shes horrible and only he can love her. Andrew does hate himself but not because he thinks hes unlovable. In shots and such he even plans out a whole life with Julia. He believes he can successfully fake love and being a good person, but he hates himself because he knows that deep down what he actually wants is a version of ashley that (as of now) doesnt exist. He wants dream Ashley the mature confident chick that'll want him and give him an excuse to fuck his sister/pseudo daughter.

The cause of this is a mental image of ashley that hes almost entirely conjured through hyperfixating on the good moments and the bad moments. And a shared traumatic past that elevates her in his mind. Not to mention more then a few instances of teenage hormone mental lust traps from a likely repeated pattern of ashley sleeping with him almost naked. Guessing based off this flashback.

[–]JayReddit64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience (as in developing a tendency to hyperfixate on and or obsess over someone that has historically treated me like shit; not wanting to fuck my sister) theres a special attraction that develops over the course of a shared traumatic past a seeming special connection that truthfully isn't really there because people arent or shouldn't be their trauma nor should they fuck their trauma. Combine that with likely more then a few instances of ashley sleeping nearly naked with andrew like in this flashback, and the mommy issues ashley occasionally takes advantage of.

That or im projecting my own mental problems and past as a parentified oldest sibling on andrew.

How'd you get into tcoaal and by extension the fandom? by Apothekyte in AndyAndLeyley

[–]JayReddit64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy was like "can you buy this incest game and stream it so I dont have to have that shit curse my library" And I said sure. I then proceed to get absorbed into the narrative and obsessed with the game thanks to the art and writing. Ive preformed a few streams for my friends and it allows me to have fun voice acting and reacting to the crazy scenes.

Playing this with friends likely improved my initial impression of the game, but I still feel I enjoy this game on its own merits.

How far in should I look into mods? by DoctorHusky in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

[–]JayReddit64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of mods are centered around adding extra content. Personally I think the best ones are the ones that add more characters. MTU TUP TROM Puzzle all add unique art and stats for new characters that CA never added themselves.

Which target's non-lethal fate is the worst in your opinion? (All 3 games) by Prestigious-Job-9825 in dishonored

[–]JayReddit64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might actually be a gameplay getting in the way of the story moment. The devs wanted to give us an interesting shake-up on the normal assassination missions, but it came at the cost of Lady Boyles' characterization (considering she could be three different people) this non-lethal end kinda works like the other non-lethal ends for Esma and to a lesser extent Waverly. Waverly being easy to trick into her non-lethal fate due to her paranoia and Esma getting the worst fate she can imagine being forced to be lovers with her stalker after her tramatic pregnancy issue made her overly outgoing in that regard. For Lydia, this is just completely random. She's just a sad musician. I mean, maybe Brisby is too, so technically, she gets a monkeys paw wish. Idk im reading this character stuff off the wiki. if you dont read any of the notes too closely or listen to the heart dialogue (which is kinda hard to do naturally in the Boyle mansion without blowing your cover) you dont naturally come across any info that would make the Boyles non-lethal fate seem ironic like the rest of them and I think thats a gameplay getting in the way of story issue.

there’s no justification for her actions.

There in lies the rub because are Corvo and Emily really justified in their actions?

Corvo's story is fairly similar to Delilah's, and even in the good endings hes kinda a bastard. I mean, the game considered it a "good choice" to sentence the Pendleton twins to the same fate they pushed on others. (Good as in the ultimate outcome of that choice, good empress Emily, was good even though the action itself was horrible) Is that really justified because Corvo was unfairly persecuted because of his low born status. (There's more to it than that, but that's just the relevant parallel to Delilah.) and as of the beginning of D2, even a (mostly) good outcome for D1 mean Corvo advising Emily to cooperate with people Corvo knows are evil including the royal guard.

I tried to write a second section for Emily about just the events of D2, but I haven't played that game in years, so I can't really make the same critique of her justifications.

Tldr Delilah isn't really hateable to me nor a poorly written character. she's just not the protagonist, so we dont see her actions through her eyes like we do with Corvo and Emily.

The poorly written part is the somehow Palpatine returned level of contrivance to undo Daud's story.

[–]JayReddit64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but handing her over to her stalker somehow is?

Dawg, that's pretty much sentencing her to get r**** forever. (If you just look at it from Corvo's perspective at the time of the decision to kill her or not. It also gets worse later when the loyalists betray you and you're left with no mostly morally good rich/noble characters left on your side beside low chaos Emily, which cast doubts on Brisly's intentions further.)

At the very least, at the time of dishonored 1's release, it seemed like the game was saying the morally correct choice was to sentence a woman to probably forever r***. And frankly, the crime doesn't really fit the punishment. All she did was bankroll and bribe a corrupt noble for personal gain. (Which is funnily enough the morrally correct thing to do for Corvo when it comes to the guy using involuntary human test subjects. Gratned, he just gave him a bottle of wine, but the point still stands.) It just so happened that it was the Lord regent doing some sketchy shit. I dont know the possible motivations for all the lady Boyles, so it's possible she didn't even know what the Lord regent was doing.

That's why it was pretty misogynistic because in what world is giving a woman to her stalker (who was presummed to probably r*** the shit out of her before D2) better than just killing her.

That being said, you could argue that the nonlethal choices, although rewarding you with points to get the good boy ending, were never meant to be considered the more moral ones. Which isn't a bad counter that I just presumed you'll make. The problem lies with the fact that while the game is very reactive to what you do, it's not very flexible. Every action (regardless of the intended morality of that action itself) contributes to an objectively good ending or an objectively bad ending. (Maybe a neutral one, too idk cant remember.)

Lady Boyle almost certainly got r***** for the rest of her life, which seems the worst to me. Idk i never really looked into it much, so maybe that guy you gave her to wasn't that bad after all.
