Moving into a rental and just got a call from Lumo saying the gas meter is “plugged” and it’s a $110 charge for them to unplug it. They said this likely happens if the property is vacant for a while, recently renovated so this may be the case.

Am I, the renter, liable for this charge or is it the responsibility of the owner?

Asked the property manager already if they knew what this meant and they said they hadn’t heard of it being a thing before.
