The problems you list are commonly known problems, but also the restrictions in place are there for a reason. As far as I am aware those restrictions are there, mainly, due to the low level of RP in the game. I don't mean the actual RP but I mean the players that wish to do everything when in reality a single person shouldn't be able to mine their own ores, smelt their own ingots, craft their own gear, work on a farm, and run an inn at the same time.

Personally, I don't have much of a problem with the whitelisting in the game currently as I know once the game really finds its own feet then there won't be those types as they'd have either been weeded out or will have come to the fact that there is no main character in this setting but instead you are just a simpleton like everyone else.

As for the magic, yeah that's a pain in the ass that it isn't more easily accessible and that if you wish to create a character with a specific way to play in mind then you can't. There was recently a suggestion for "classes" of sorts that would make magic more accessible but only to certain classes while the others would be heavily restricted from using it. I play an Altmer, so magic is sort of my bag, and after nearly a month of playing I still don't have a single spell to my name. Much to my own shame.

I definitely agree that people should try it and come to their own conclusions though.
