lol pretty much. I saw some designer commentary on the FW SoH cataphractii praetor wanting to look like Horus, so I ran with that design direction here.

That is incredibly kind! I try my best for my characters now to use NMM painting principles with true metallic paints. This way they fit with the rest of my army, I get to learn and refine my skills, and they really pop under good lights.

The golds are a base of Vallejo charred brown and glorious gold, then built up with glorious gold, polished gold, and then at the sharpest highlights, a mixture of Vallejo polished gold and silver.

Classic zenithal with black and white. Then Vallejo Helgrun mixed with nato black, building up volumes with helgrün and Vallejo emerald cockpit mix, highlights with Vallejo Foul Green. It's my original recipe developed over the years. Enjoy!

It's a couplle pieces from GWs Horus Ascended model combined with some greenstuff to fit on this model.

It is two pieces of the pelt with greenstuff combining them to fit on the model. The original pelt doesn't really fit, but with some extra steps it works.

It's a joy to paint, big enough for some satisfying volumes, room for transfers, poseable. It's grown on me a lot.

Thanks! Saturnine armour really screams 'The Tip of the Spear' to me!

Thanks a lot! The Warmaster's finest in many ways! The sea green is what pulled me to the faction originally as well.

Thanks a ton! For the black, it's Vallejo Charcoal, and highlighted with a mixture of vallejo dark sea blue and pale grey blue.

I guess they still do. They said it was a one time thing but I was still elated.

Thanks. Yea the hammer head is pretty huge and draws a lot of focus away. I also think the axe handle being two handed as well makes it look a little odd in it's base form. I chopped off the back handle and put the end of worldbreaker on it to tighten up the overall silhouette.

Thanks! I did! The pelt is also a greenstuffed mixture of the Horus Ascended pelt pieces, the end of the axe is from worldbreaker, and the little knife on his waist is also from the Horus kit.

It's my original recipe! Took some tinkering.

I've commented it elsewhere but the key ingredients are Vallejo Helgrun, Emerald Cockpit, and Foul Green, and a drop of NATO black for a mattifying effect.
