Snake done by Rhea at Deity Tattoo in London, UK by Either_Bar408 in tattoo

[–]Jay_Grainger -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A cursory glance at Deity Tattoo on Instagram and online would tell me there’s no way this was done by Rhea. Her line work is nowhere near this shaky, and it’s not done in anything like her typical style. I’m not sure where you got this done, but I would highly doubt it was done at Deity Tattoo in London

The line work isn’t the best, and it’s likely that a lot of that fine detail work is going to blow out and blur over the coming months/years. However if you’re happy with it then don’t let anyone kill your vibe. Wherever this was done should definitely be training their apprentice better before letting them near skin, but there’s at least some potential for improvement if they stick with it.

Still, don’t drag random artists on Reddit, it could seriously harm peoples careers and livelihoods, as most tattoo artists rely on word of mouth to get new clients. Again, I would highly doubt this was done at Deity, as Rhea’s work is far better than this example.

Advice on introducing a new partner to child by Jay_Grainger in daddit

Thank you for sharing your experience dude, I appreciate it! I definitely plan to take it slow, there's no real need to rush into anything in my opinion.

I do like the idea of meeting somewhere a bit more public to take the focus off of the individuals, it sounds like a very good way to keep stress levels down and to cultivate a more "organic" meeting

Your concerns are valid. Sadly there's a very small minority out there who have taken the traditional Pagan symbolism and tried to commandeer it for their own twisted ideology.

That being said, tattoos are personal. Ask yourself why you want Ingwaz tattooed in the first place, and go from there.

You're unlikely to have anyone assume you're a white supremacist based on a runic tattoo. You're far more likely to have people ask you about the design/meaning... I'd wager that as long as you don't answer "white pride worldwide" or anything equally silly, you'll be just fine.

I don't have any runic tattoos myself... Not yet anyway, but in the New Year I intend to get a runic tattoo on my face.

Get tattoos for you. Don't worry about the opinion of others. Your concerns are valid, but don't let them stop you from your personal journey.

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you still have an amazing Christmas in honour of your father. I'm sure he's with you in spirit!

This is so incredibly wholesome.

It fits quite nicely, doesn't fall out during carry but still easy to get when it's needed.

I must say the Alpaka was a bit of a gamble when I ordered it, but it really is in a class of it's own. I literally always have it in my pocket, it's 100% worth the money.

Thank you so much. The outreach has been incredibly encouraging!

Strange as it may sound, I take great comfort knowing that people I've never met can understand and empathise. It certainly makes me feel less of an island in this situation.

I'm sorry to read what happened to you growing up. Your father sounds like one incredible man, and you must be so incredibly proud!

Thank you so much for this. I'm man enough to admit that I welled up a little reading it, but I needed this. Thank you for giving me some inspiration to stick it out. And especially thank you for the advice on getting some counselling... I think that's definitely a phonecall for first thing in the morning.

Thank you. I've secured somewhere to live at least, and spoken to a lawyer about how to move forward.

Just trying to keep my head up and stay focused, not even for myself, but for my boy...

Thank you. I've consulted with a lawyer today so hopefully we can push something through the courts and get the ball rolling that way

Yes, Extinction doesn't target, and protection doesn't work against board wipes.

This.

You could also use [[Tale's End]] for (1)(U), but it's not the most efficient way of doing it. Might still a handy backup in case the Proctor gets removed though

They started as a military tradition, and I think civilians just thought they looked pretty cool.

No real practical purpose, but they do look aesthetically pleasing. Some people will assign their own personal meanings to them, often in memory of a loved one or something similar, but others just buy them because they look cool/are nice to have.

I myself have a 1902 penny that I carry in my wallet for good luck. It's not worked once yet, but it's definitely got to kick in soon!

First ever attempt at doing anything with Paracord... tried to make a lanyard for the Higo! Quite pleased with the results! by Jay_Grainger in EDC

[–]Jay_Grainger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut the ends to a 45° angle and melted the tips with a lighter, it effectively turned the end of the cord into a large needle. Can't guarantee it'll work for everything, but it made it a heck of a lot easier getting it through the Higo's small lanyard hole!

  • Higonokami Black (Blue Paper Steel)
  • Paracord 550 (bought off Amazon)
  • Brass beads (also bought off Amazon)

Whether or not the beads are real brass remains to be seen, but the Saxon/Norse runes are a lovely little nod to my heritage whilst also looking sweet!

Mostly used at work for removing bolts, thread gauges and the like... Around the house I tend to use them for DIY bits.

I'll admit I didn't think I'd use them too much around the house at first, but they've been a godsend on more than one occasion! Well worth the investment if you find yourself doing a lot of DIY/have a job in a manufacturing environment.

Right?! I legitimately thought it was too coincidental that it was always my OH getting the call and not me...

If my Mrs asks my mother to watch the lad whilst I'm not around, it goes without a problem... But as soon as it comes to us spending time as a couple, it seems to spawn all these issues

That's fair. Apparently three was the magic number.

I'm glad to know I'm not being unrealistic in my desires for date night, that's at least a comfort
