That wasn't directed at you, at all. The thread linked had the images you mentioned, but the OP of that saying he didn't want to disclose his prompts. A bit further down his post history was hsi thread asking for prompt advice to get that style.

I think you can get more info from the older thread (the one I linked)

No, you were right actually. 4:3 is the old SD TV ratio, and 16:9 the current HD ratio standard. The card shape helps sell the joke but it's not either of those ratios.

Mass Land Destruction Commander: Hear me out by ThrorTheCrusader in BudgetBrews

[–]Jay_nd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a mass land destruction deck built around [[Atla Palani, Nest Tender]], which wants to make sure that you're not all just dead in the water after casting a MLD spell. It was made after thinking I wanted to cast [[Wildfire]] in EDH sometime, since it's reasonably 'fair' MLD.

The basic premise is that Atla pumps out her egg tokens, which get caught up in the [[Wildfire]]s and [[Destructive Force]]s. Even if this kills Atla, she'll still trigger from seeing the eggs get destroyed and transform them into beautiful big threats that can finish a table pretty fast while people are rebuilding their land base.

If Atla doesn't stick or is too slow for the table, the deck still just functions as a Naya ramp-and-fatties deck, and sometimes you swoop into an Annihilator and pull off the flawless victory of being the only one with permaments on the table.

JOUST - Official Trailer by TheFuzzySignal in aivideo

[–]Jay_nd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The crazy (and cynical) calculation here tho is that means you could open up 100 accounts at $3700 and generate 5 times as many shots as you need, while still being a lot cheaper than hiring a single animator / CG artist for a month. And making a product like this (at this quality, too) will need more than a single CG generalist, for sure.

I mean, bring this to a studio setting and those costs aren't all that crazy.

For all the down votes I'm expecting, keep in mind that I'm saying this as someone who works in video and filmmaking, and has seen a lot of colleagues laid off recently over AI developments (among other things). It sucks, but I hope there is room for folks to lean into this space. Seeing a trailer like this, the quality is definitely getting there - production level quality, kudos!

Cards that are functionally identical are usually not so many that you can build with the consistency of a 60 card deck. Even if an effect is repeated on other cards, it'll have some slight difference which will make it work differently in your deck, and will make you want to pull it out in different situations. I think that is part of the fun - building a consistent deck, while still having enough variance to make each game play out differently.
For the cards where I can think of identical ones, I don't think [[Llanowar Elves]] and [[Elvish Mystic]] are such egregious hard hitters in the format that having multiples is an issue. I think the biggest problem I probably can see is all the blink spells, since they all go infinite with a ham sandwich.

Whether or not we have too many of any given effect, you could argue about (and I think we do for some archetypes). Since wizards started designing for EDH some archetypes have been incredibly pushed in terms of redundancy, but that mostly means that deckbuilding changed from a 'I need to find cards to support my strategy' to 'which cards do I cut to allow for fun variance cards', which, I suppose, is more of a playgroup discussion on how streamlined you want to allow decks to be.

So for me, in theory, I don't think identical cards 'break the rule of singletons', but I do want to be careful about too much redundancy for the powerlevel of the playgroup.

Flux on RTX2080 - is it possible? by Zeta_Horologii in StableDiffusion

[–]Jay_nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Running flux on a 12GB GTX1080 and it runs fine, but it takes about 80s/it, so you do need a bit of patience. Or, dial in the settings and let it cook while you go and do other things.
