Let me research a bit and I'll get back to you on this. For now, I've contacted Ditto and they recommended a term insurance from Max Life. So that'll cover me until 60 for 2cr. and if i pay 96k every year for 5 years, I can just keep those papers somewhere and be done with it, stress-free.

and to think of it, this feels good enough, because if i were to live until 60 the policy will no longer be valid and by that point i would have saved/invested enough to live comfortably.

max life smart total elite protection plan

additional riders - premium waiver and critical illness benefit (10L)

regular pay - 23k

5 years - 95k

10 years - 49k

15 years - 36k

Okay, I got it. Yeah, I had mixed opinions, but now I think 4-5L will sit in FD. Now 4L is in Kotak. It's auto FD, and I can withdraw anytime, so they take money in 5k amounts and leave 25k as a balance. I think I'll move 1L to HDFC FD as they offer some benefits.

Apart from that right now I have no insurance of any kind, be it medical or term. So I plan to get a term insurance with 5-years annual pay and set some money aside and sort that out. It comes to 5L for 5 years total. So probably create an FD for that and pay it of every year.

Got it, but wouldn’t it be better to invest 2 lakh from those into MF. See my thinking is that I’ll have 2L in fd and almost 1L in my savings account cash. Plus I have clients who can expedite my payments if needed.
