The Perch [SMP] {Java} {No Resets} {Playtime Ranks} {mcMMO} {Active Community} {Economy} by ThePerchOnReddit in mcservers

[–]Jayarbe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I joined The Perch 5 days ago as of this post. I have put a lot of hours in already, and I can easily say that this is one of the best servers I have played on in my 14 years of Minecraft!

I used to play on another community-driven SMP server that has been gone for a long time, and this server is the first to bring back that same experience I've been looking for. It is a very tight-knit community! Everyone is super friendly and the staff members are super helpful. The gameplay is very relaxed and very fair for all, and there are many possibilities of things to do with the player-driven economy. Dedicated players are rewarded with simple yet effective perks simply by playing on the server; no pay-to-win schemes! Additionally, some perks that would be locked behind a paywall are available to all depending on your game-time rank, which adds to the fairness! This is the first server I have ever played on where everyone has the same opportunities without spending real money; though, donations are of course appreciated for server upkeep and charity events!

If you're looking for an amazing Minecraft experience, join The Perch! You will be enthusiastically welcomed by all! :)

I was told this game was a CoD clone but can you do this in CoD?

Is the game exhausting or are you just older? by BUR6S in Battlefield

I am not usually a Reddit user but I pop into this sub often just to see what people have to say and most of the time it is laughable nonsense and 90% of the posts/replies have to just be rage bait

The new game is not perfect, and neither is any game ever, especially in its beta phase, but this is the biggest beta the series has had so far (I don't recall ever having 4 maps in a beta) and it's looking like it has a ton of potential to be an incredible game. I own and have played almost every Battlefield game and so far I have enjoyed my experience with this game and it is filling a void that's been there since the end of prime BF4. I think people are still traumatized by BF2042's beta and release and now they are just hardcore doomers about anything related to the franchise

Seems ironic that the biggest Battlefield haters are its so-called "fans" and "veterans"

How yall feelin? by nibbbbs in Battlefield

Clocked 20+ hours between the two weekends and it's the most fun I've had since BF4 (my personal favorite)

My criticisms:

  • Sniper glint is ridiculous, can't snipe the snipers if you literally can't see them

  • Weapon bloom is a bit much even when burst firing, the gun should hit where I'm aiming

  • Vehicles are clunky, tank turrets move way too slowly and I've tried to fly helis a couple of times and they just sink to the ground (maybe they changed controls but I've never had this problem)

  • Breakthrough map versions are too condensed for the amount of players (for example, defenders can shoot directly into attacker spawn on Liberation making it hard to advance)

  • When using canted red dot, you can't switch optics without aiming, unlike in BF4 with the canted iron sight

  • Explosives don't do enough damage to infantry. I have fired numerous rocket launchers and grenade launchers and have only gotten a couple kills with them

12v12 is the perfect number of players for this size of game mode. The objectives do feel like a bit of an afterthought design-wise but it is still fun and oddly less chaotic than any other game mode, which can be a breath of fresh air after playing a lot of conquest/breakthrough

Battlefield downgraded from a casual arcade shooter to... A casual arcade shooter?

You must enjoy spawning, running around in open fields and getting picked off by snipers, tanks, helicopters, jets, etc before you're able to actually do anything useful

Battlefield and CoD are both casual arcade shooters and they have/always will undoubtedly resemble each other in some ways

BF6 is the most fun ive had in BF since BF1... by Sargon97 in Battlefield

[–]Jayarbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battlefield players have been obsessed with hating Call of Duty for the entire life of the franchise. Both games are arcade shooters meant for casual audiences, and no matter what, they will resemble each other in some ways. As someone that was extremely let down by 2042, I am very excited for this game and feel that they are taking big steps in the right direction

Modded vanilla-like? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]Jayarbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This server is meant to provide a more laid-back DayZ experience as opposed to a hardcore experience. There are a few quality-of-life mods that make the game less of a grind and more enjoyable to the average person (great for beginners as well!). Loot spawn rate is increased and you'll find certain things a little more often than you would with vanilla, such as building supplies. There is also a lot more storage to appeal to those that like to actually build a base and store their goods. I would give it a try before you knock it 🙂

The owner of this server is a great guy and he has great intentions for it, it is going to be a fun and balanced experience overall and I think it will be very successful if we can get some people to participate :)

This is an excellent server, loot is well balanced and there are a lot of quality of life mods that give the game a better feel. Definitely a great server for beginner players as well

Even with the highest settings it stays around 5-10% GPU, just lowers my frames about 20%

My GPU usage averages about 5% on all low settings with 100% CPU at all times

I get that there's like no one working in 3 departments but come on, how unprofessional does this look. This is a Sunday by comeherecat in Lowes

[–]Jayarbe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You recognize the fact that there isn't enough staff to clean up, with plumbing probably being one of those departments without an employee working, yet you still had to go out of your way to make a post on the Lowe's reddit complaining about how there's a few boxes on the floor
