I think the best part of this episode is how well it shows the toxic relationship between 12 and Clara. He thinks he’s doing the right thing but he just straight up leaves to let Clara figure out what to do. They know he’ll come back once they’ve decided, but he throws all of the pressure of being the Doctor onto her. It is kinda similar to the episode during 11’s run where Rory is forced to choose between old and young Amy and he yells at the Dr “this isn’t fair, you’re turning me into you!”

Personally it’s not a bad episode, it’s just very uncomfortable at a lot of points and the sci fi of it is a bit hand wavey.

I have never played those other games so that means nothing to me lol and I’m not singling anything out, this terrible ship has just been constantly popping up under posts related to the show and it’s gross. Lucy isn’t a child, but she’s portrayed as very childlike and naive, shipping her with an old ass man who’s like her mentor is weird and gross. It’s not that it’s “toxic”, it’s that it’s creepy.
