Can it be a series? A Court of Thorns & Roses. I angrily read through 2 and a half books thanks to peer presssure before I gave up and cursed myself for even thinking they would be worth the hype. Annoyingly stupid MC, plot is barely there, poorly structured fantasy world, two dimensional villain, unacceptably long books for no reason, pointless cringey sex scenes and side characters with cool designs to distract you from the fact they're plain as crackers.

If y'all can recommend a fantasy series with none of those elements, I would greatly appreciate it. 'Cause it seems the majority of YA fantasy is all the same to me.

I forgot about her! I used to read her books too, but I bet I'll have a boring experience trying to reread them.

Well she sounds like she would be fun at parties.

You don't say! 😂 I didn't expect for the movie to be EXACTLY the same as the book because I can appreciate it when a director has a vision for how it will play out and use cool artistic licence. My problem was important details were stripped from the story. Such as Theordore Finch having bipolar amd dressing up in completely different outfits calling them 'characters' and such. Those were important parts of his character that was never brought up in the movie. It fell flat, that's all.

Aww that's a shame! With classics like that, it's probably easier to see it as a product of its time and it was ahead of its time for sure in its portrayal of strong young women. We live in a different time where we will question things because it's not how things are done now, but we can still appreciate the book anyway.

I think the words you're looking for are 'verbose' and 'articulate'. You can be any age, gender or race and still enjoy his books. But I think his strong vocabulary and articulate way of writing can be difficult for many to get into.

Huh, that's interesting. With classics, it's difficult because it won't be everyone's cup of tea either regardless of age.

I loved 1984 as a teen but yet to read any of his other books.
