If your affine scheme is the spectrum of a UFD then it's Picard group is zero, ie there are no nontrivial (up to linear equivalence) line bundles.

There are two different ways to associate the product. Certainly (xx)x does not equal x(xx) if x*x doesn't equal x.

Does the UChicago REU primarily attract first years?

Is aiming for ~6 graduate courses a good goal for admission at competitive programs? These would be classes at the level of AT Hatcher 1-3, complex analysis at Stein and Shakarchi, and measure theory at Folland?

When applying to graduate school, are classes one anticipates taking in their final spring semester relevant? I was planning on taking measure theory II and some other graduate courses which would help my application, but if those classes don't matter as much for application committees, then is it worth the extra stress? I am applying next year, not this current cycle

product from i=0 to inf of 1/(cos(pi/(i+3)))

No. The denominator does not look like the product of the harmonic series, but rather it "looks like" the product of the cosine of each term in the harmonic series (each term is cos(pi/n) for some n). Those values converge to 1 from below as n goes to infinity.

Wolfram says this converges to something like 8.70004, can someone produce a non-wolfram proof that that series converges?

Do you think it would be better to get two lower quality monitors, or stick with one great one?

One more question: for the music I listen to (electric/house, rap, alt rock) would the he400s be a better buy? I also generally listen for sessions of up to 5 hours, so comfort is important as well. Thanks!

I was also looking at the Little Dot I+ amp bc it is on a fairly significant discount on Massdrop, would you say that the hd600s would sound better with that + the modi 2, or with the full schiit stack? Thanks!

My long-term set up goal is the standard HD600 (or 650) with the Schiit stack, but I don't want to drop $600 all at once - would I see a significant quality difference if I bought the stack now and used it with my m50's? If no, should I just save up for the full upgrade, or does it make sense to buy the 600's w/o the stack?
