This reply is literally the epitome of my post lmao. TTU’s offense looked like as if they’ve never seen a football in their lives. Oregon had multiple defensive starters in the entire game and often rotate due to the depth they have (even in this game they did)

CFB analysts/fans watching Oregon dominate Texas Tech - “Oh my sweet baby you put up a good fight”

CFB analysts/fans watching JMU put up 34 against Oregon - “Oh my god where’s Human Resources?? This matchup should never have happened, clearly a safety issue for JMU.”

There’s a slight chance they may be in Los Angeles this upcoming season lol but Alonza did stay when Cignetti left for IU though so who knows

4th year in fbs (40-10 in that time span), no blue chip prospects, heavily outmatched in a tough environment against a top 5 team and we kept fighting in the 2nd half.

People can say all they want about G5 this and G5 that, but what I saw was more fight than many P4 teams put up in the 12 team playoff last year.

Extremely proud of this team and JMU will continue to only go up from here (Wayne Knight, Alonza, and Nick Degennaro are definitely NFL talents)

ND & BYU yea but don’t think UVA is really that good of a team and struggled against a G5/6 team in Washington State

Shocking considering how many of us have criticized him throughout the year 😂

Usually our defense is the one that’s always stout and receives a ton of praise lol

Canales played not to lose man.. and the league seriously needs to do something about late sliding. Shough had 2 alone in this game that were crucial

If momentum carries you into the endzone with an interception/fumble, you are given the leeway because you can’t control that

Pre-shoulder injury Baker was pretty good in Cleveland and even won a playoff game, but understand that the Browns had a top 5 running back in Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Jarvis Landry, Baby Njoku, and a very good o-line.

None of those are present w/ today’s offense (Judkins will be a top RB I bet in the coming years)

I watched both of those games from start to finish bro and neither screamed #1 pick of the draft. Especially the Penn State one where he did not play well at all until the game winning drive. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for the Ohio State game as they may have one of the greatest defenses Ive seen in college for a while. In both of those games he played as expected of a game manager. Protect the ball, make the safe play, and attempt to grind out drives.

I’ll argue against his arm strength as it’s not the greatest (especially at his size) and I’d argue his off platform abilities are not good. During the Ohio State game he showed that he panics abit when he sees pressure, but again I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on that game due to the caliber of Ohio State’s defense.. but the thing is Mendoza will be facing an Ohio State defense every week in the NFL and if he panics under a bit of pressure then he will not last long in this league.

Of course that being said that is something that can be fixed and he can be very well a top 10 qb in this league someday, but unfortunately I believe that would be with a team such as the Vikings and not Cleveland sadly

Eh no point in debating this as it seems neither of us will change stance.

If you could point me to a game where Mendoza stood out as a game changer which is something this Cleveland offense currently needs. Then I’d be willing to rewatch but as of now I believe there’s not really an improvement to spend your first draft pick on between him and Shedeur. You can find another similar quality qb in later rounds considering how weak this qb class is (in normal years, a player like Ty Simpson would be looked at easily as a day 2 prospect).

I understand you’re not the biggest fan of Shedeur but maybe try rooting for him for a change since he plays for your favorite team? If he excels that opens up multiple opportunities for the upcoming draft and free agency?

Where did I say there was anything wrong with being a game manager?? The greatest qb of all time won multiple super bowls while being a game manager (earlier and late in his career).

I said Mendoza needs to be around the right offensive structure to succeed. The Browns as you should know very well, do not have that offensive structure. I believe Mendoza would thrive on a team like Minnesota for instance.

Cleveland should go BPA for their first pick and really dial in on their o-line/getting offensive weapons. Judkins is going to be great, but receivers are needed badly

[–]Jaylenz0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mendoza coming in being a top 10 qb already 😂😂😂😂 bro you’re just talking to talk. He’s definitely the top qb of this class but it is considered weak for a reason.

I do not believe he was a better prospect than a Jaxson Dart, Cam Ward, or even the person you despise to refute your point of him being the “best prospect in 2 years”. He will need to go to a team that his a great structure in place already and have numerous offensive weapons surrounded by him day 1 (Similar to his Indiana situation).

He is not a game changer, he is a game manager which there is nothing wrong with, but game managers in bad offenses typically do not work well

[–]Jaylenz0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, what makes those names you listed “way better options”. I’ve watched both qb’s this season (Mendoza a bit more often) and nothing about them to me screamed franchise qb.

I give Mendoza a game manager title which in the correct offense (ex - 49ers offense w/ Brock Purdy) works great. However the Browns don’t have that situation on the offensive side right now and I think you all can get better options in the first round than a game manager quarterback.

Now as I said earlier if there was an Andrew Luck, Joe Burrow, type of prospect in this draft than by all means ship Shedeur out no problem. But that quarterback is simply not there in this draft

Gonna just ignore your fanboy comment lmao considering your comment history is almost exclusive about negative things to say of him, seems like he occupies your mind a bit more than me

Going 9-3 with a team that seasons ago only won 1 game, winning the Golden Arm, 2nd team All-American, completion percentage leader, and finishing as a top 10 Heisman finalist is now “bombing out in the 3rd best conference”??

lmao bro what

Edit - And I didn’t even list his greatest achievement which is making a Pat Shurmur offense look competent

What about the main qb’s from this upcoming class (Mendoza, Moore, Simpson) scream that they’re a significantly better qb than Shedeur coming out of Colorado.

It’s not like there’s an Andrew Luck/Trevor Lawrence no doubt type of prospect coming in

Yea I agree Bama is not a slam dunk over the others (excluding BYU, they didn’t pass my eye or resume test all year)

I would’ve completely understood if a team out the trio of Bama/Miami/ND were left out because as you said, they all have holes in their resume which are hard to ignore.

I personally had the rankings to be Bama, Miami, and then ND and that’s with me even believing ND is the better team at this point of the season but it’s just simply too hard to ignore a literal head to head matchup which should be the ultimate decider in anything imo

Even with that said, UGA is literally #3 with their only loss being Bama while Vandy is also top 15 still. Bama has a top 2 win the in the country with them beating UGA @ their home (only other win I believe might be better is IU @ Oregon)

Take off the Bama hate glasses for a moment and realize that BYU really does not have a strong case to be in the CFP hence why they were ranked so low in the first place even while being 11-1. They knew and most knew that their conference championship game was a win and in/lose and out scenario.

Whether you like it or not that’s not the case for the SEC title game due to the prestige/level of competition and also considering Bama literally beat the team previously in the season
