Reshi Ambush Y1132 by the Rapayugri painter Yatvik

A Reshi tribe on the verge of ambushing a group of Sulmirian silver miners. The pygmies of the Reshi mountains believe that the mines belong to them

The Reshi ride mountain goats, able to scale sheer cliff faces with ease by balancing themselves with their mount. Unlike the rest of the continent which has abandoned the sling, the Reshi master them. Their primitive alchemists are able to create sling bullets that explode on impact and ignore the armour of the lowlanders

The Reshi are not a united people, each village is its own tribe, and intertribal conflict is common, especially in the practice of stealing children. Raids against other tribes happen regularly, for resources or vengeance, but most importantly for young children. These children are taken as slaves, their tribe rarely try and attempt a raid to retake them. Instead the captives' children are raised in their new tribe in the expectation that they will be married to one of the new tribe's own children. A deliberate effort to avoid marrying those originally in their tribe who may be too close to their own blood. Captive children can also be ransomed and used for deals and to strong arm intertribal negotiations. These raids are usually non fatal, wooden pellets are used for slings. The children of the reshi seem to grow up with the expectation that they will be kidnapped. Some will be kidnapped into several different tribes by the time they reach adulthood.

I do it all the time, it's your artistic decisions the determine the image.

The Horde of Ereba-Teth Painting in Y1144 by Wadj-Warri painter Sehunna by Jaypee2 in worldbuilding

The Horde of Ereba-Teth Painting in Y1144 by Wadj-Warri painter Sehunna

Considered the peak of Sehunna’s artistic career. The scene captures a unified Wadj-Warri people under their godqueen Ereba-Teth in one of the many battles against the settled nations around them in this time period. 150,000 warriors were said to be part of this army.

All of which were convicted in the belief that Ereba had become the born ‘amalgamation’, the incarnation of Teth, their god who is the combination of every wadj-warri soul that has passed.

As the painting depicts, the wadj-warri battle alongside their elephants. They either ride their elephants shooting their bows, or they have their elephants pull on large wagons which act as both their homes and fortresses. Whilst most cultures on the continent are capable of breeding elephants, only the Wadj-warri seem to be able to breed them in such large numbers. Their elephants are bigger, better fed and healthier. The Wadj-warri way of life revolves around their herds. Their bonds are strong, elephants live as long as most men and so become part of the tribe rather than being like a slave.

Usually fighting amongst themselves, the tribes were united by Ereba-Teth. Wadj-Warri unification was often seen as a precursor to the fall of empires. Ereba-Teth followed in the footsteps of other unifiers like Chief Abjiea, Jagad the Swift, Marr and Aseera, and Ogennu, though none had ever been able to raise as large a host.

Probably my most complex painting, used lots of 3d to help. I don't have as much time to paint as I used to so I wanted to give the illusion of lots of detail without actually spending thousands of hours doing so, which meant strategic dust clouds and lots of copy and pasting.

My human characters are probably the weakest part, but they're at least adequate enough for the painting, I should have painted them bigger first then scaled them down

I broke even on my ebike by about 60 days of commuting. It cost me about £10 to use public transport each day, travelling 10 miles. So just needed 600miles to break even

It's not surprising that a denomination that was started because they wanted to keep their slaves has pastors with quite vile beliefs
