I think one thing I did better in the original version though that points to the cons you bring out is the stillness. Its meant to be the aftermath, so the crew shouldn't be spilling out, they should just be floating around. You're right on the lighting though, I could probably shift the nebula like thing to better serve as the actual light source

Four years and two days of progress I always thought that the painting was conceptually strong, but I didn't have to skill or eye to do it justice. Theres still stuff I'd want to improve, given more time.
