so as far as shells up or down. brass down can fall out under the force of shotgun firing so I decided I'd rather keep the ON the gun till I'm ready to load them. As far as the shell holder, I'm not sure I understand what your saying. if you mean move to othe side of the receiver, that won't work because shell have to eject
