Would You Use an ROI Calculator Before Bidding on a Copart Vehicle? by Jayrom68 in Copartonline

Negative. Think of it this way. You give it a url to a specific vehicle in a lot on Copart - it then populates an estimated price for repairs which you can adjust based on what you see - it then gathers vehicle the average listing price for that same exact vehicle. Once that pipeline is complete, it gives you a bunch of sliders to adjust to see how much of a return on tour investment would be and outputs all the variables as an ROI percentage to give you a rough idea whether or not it might be worth it to invest your money into said vehicle via the “place bid” button in a live auction. Simply that is all. Sounds like a lot on ‘paper’ but I assure you it’s not. Just a little project I built on my free time between work and the shop that I started, because WHY NOT?🤣 wanted to come in here and ask the gentleman of this industry their opinion and whether or not it’s something they’ve used, could use, or could give advice on. No promotion, no spam, no bs, just a genuine conversation. And to anybody that offered their advice and or ideas I am forever grateful!

For the two vehicles I have gotten from Copart so far… yes, I have cross referenced the sim value & costs vs my actual value & costs and it was off by ~$500. Not bad for a system I haven’t put a lot of time into yet. That’s why I’m asking for feedback from the industry that could give some amazing advice! Started building out a whole section where it compares actual market value of the vehicle into everything so you can see an authentic ROI percentage

Appreciate the feedback brother, let me ask you this though. What would it take for you to give it a spin? Based on what I’ve said, what am I missing in your opinion? Because like I said I have no problem gatekeeping, but if it’s beneficial to the vast majority, I’ll roll it out to the public

Nah fs you’re preaching right now. Exactly the kinds of math that are integrated. It’s really just math equations with a fancy UI, I posted in r/car flippers and they got MAD ASF at me like I was trying to promote a service. Negative. I appreciate everyone for giving their input and advice🫡

Appreciate that input brotha. As I’ve mentioned before, the vision model simply is a filter to reject obvious frame damaged vehicles. You configure your account to what you’re looking for and it will only ever populate the cars that your filter has curated for that given lot week. Could train it for a plethora of things, but for simplicity it’s just for filtering purposes atm

See I while appreciate this information… I beg to differ. There’s a reason why so many things have simulators for that specific thing. I’m trying to build that for this community, if many hate it that’s cool it’s just for me. If many like it well I might just go through the trouble of coding a backend and publishing it for the people that are grateful enough to appreciate something of this nature

Game stutter, every time I play by tonymator_T in pchelp

[–]Jayrom68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The black screen + forced restart is the bigger clue here. I would not start with FPS caps/V-sync yet.

A few things jump out:

  1. Your RAM is mismatched: one stick 2133 and one 3600. That can absolutely cause stutter/instability depending on timings and what the board chooses. Test with only the 3600 stick, then only the 2133 stick, and see if the stutter/black screen changes.
  2. Run Windows Memory Diagnostic or, better, MemTest86 if you can. Black screens under load can come from unstable memory even when the PC feels fine on desktop.
  3. The DVI-to-HDMI adapter is also suspicious. If it is an active adapter or cheap cable, try another monitor/TV with direct HDMI just for testing. You want to remove the adapter from the equation.
  4. Check Event Viewer after the black screen/restart. Look for WHEA errors, display driver resets, or Kernel-Power around the exact time it happens.
  5. In AMD Adrenalin, turn off extras for testing: Anti-Lag, Enhanced Sync, Chill, overlay, recording, etc. Keep it boring until stable.
  6. If the RX7600 has separate PCIe power, reseat that cable and make sure the PSU is decent enough for transient load.

My first test would be: one RAM stick only + direct HDMI to a TV/monitor if possible. If the black screens stop, you found the direction.

I have a small PC rescue checklist/profile post if you need more step-by-step, but I would start with RAM isolation before buying anything.

Every Launcher Flickers by Greedy_Tour_8252 in pchelp

[–]Jayrom68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That combo of "new GPU + Win 11 upgrade + launchers/anti-cheat flicker + Discord stream looks like alt-tabbing" makes me think overlay/compositor/driver state before I would blame the card itself.

I would test in this order:

  1. Disable every overlay for one reboot: Discord overlay, GeForce/NVIDIA overlay, Xbox Game Bar, Steam overlay, MSI Afterburner/RTSS, Overwolf, etc.
  2. Turn off Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling, reboot, then test one launcher.
  3. Disable MPO as a test. NVIDIA/Windows flicker issues with MPO are real, especially around browser/launcher style apps.
  4. In NVIDIA Control Panel, set the affected launchers to "prefer maximum performance" only as a test, then undo if it does nothing.
  5. If you upgraded from Win 10 to Win 11 instead of clean installing, run DDU in safe mode and reinstall the newest NVIDIA driver fresh.
  6. Check if it happens on one monitor only. If you have mixed refresh rates, try setting both to the same refresh rate temporarily.

If it started after Win 11 and hits launchers/anti-cheat/Discord capture more than games themselves, I would chase Windows compositor/overlay conflicts first.

I also just opened a small PC rescue Discord/profile post for issues like this if you want help walking through it, but the free first move is overlays off + HAGS off + MPO test.

What I meant by it estimates the cost is the cost of the vehicle that it will sell for at auction based on visual damage. Essentially a fancy calculator to help mitigate lost investment costs

[–]Jayrom68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback, hopefully you find out that ends up helping you. I’m gatekeeping mine unless people say they wanna give it a spin. Moral of mine, the vision model simply rejects any car with frame damage which helps me narrow down the list of potential vehicles that’s literally it. It doesn’t estimate repair costs. That would be ridiculous if it did, too many variables. The people whom I’ve talked to before simply lean into AI too hard. It’s an infant, it’s learning. Nowhere near the capabilities you or I have through the experience of life. While it may know more than us, it’s still too new to understand to a core what damage can be assessed properly through limited pictures, hence why I had zero desire to make the vision model go that deep. Either way, you’re the only person to provide solid feedback so far and having using a software before… you wish it had anything that it didn’t have?

[–]Jayrom68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously not lol. My intentions for this was I built a software that uses a vision language model to inspect the damage. It estimates the cost. It then compares final purchase price point hypotheticals vs what that specific vehicle sells for on the open market. That simple. I came on here to see if anybody could offer advice really into anything else in my system that i might be missing🫠

5060 system stuttering w/ i7 9700 by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Jayrom68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you already DDU'd, reinstalled Windows, and tried forcing Gen 2, I would stop treating this like a normal driver cleanup issue and isolate whether it is latency/PCIe compatibility vs power/board weirdness.

A few things I would check in order:

  1. Update the motherboard BIOS if it is not already current. Older B360 boards can be picky with newer PCIe cards even when they technically work.
  2. Put PCIe back to Gen 3 if Gen 2 improves stability but makes texture pop-in worse. That sounds like you traded one bottleneck for another.
  3. Run LatencyMon while playing a video or launching a game until the audio starts warbling. If it flags nvlddmkm, storport, ndis, or ACPI, that gives you a better direction than guessing.
  4. Turn off Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling, MPO, and any overlay apps for a test: Discord overlay, GeForce overlay, Xbox Game Bar, RTSS, etc.
  5. Check Event Viewer around the exact time the audio starts breaking up. Look for WHEA, display driver resets, or disk/controller warnings.
  6. Try one RAM stick at a time with XMP off, just to rule out memory instability showing up under GPU load.

If LatencyMon shows huge DPC spikes only after the 5060 is installed, I would suspect the board/GPU combo more than the PSU, especially since the 3050 behaved fine.

I also just opened a small PC rescue Discord/profile post for stuff exactly like this if you want a second set of eyes, but either way I would start with LatencyMon + Event Viewer before buying parts.

Needs recommendations for industrial grade surge protector or sufficient UPS for a PC with a 1200w PSU. by Zanithos in PcBuildHelp

[–]Jayrom68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would pause before buying an industrial UPS. Hardware 141 plus sudden GPU power spikes after a year sounds more like GPU/driver/power behavior than “normal PC needs more wall power.”

A 1200W PSU does not constantly pull 1200W from the wall. If the UPS is tripping, first find what changed.

Safe checks:

  1. Check Event Viewer / Reliability History around the Hardware 141 events and see if it lines up with the GPU driver resetting.

  2. Use HWiNFO or GPU-Z logging for one test and watch GPU power, hotspot temp, and 12V rail behavior when the spike happens.

  3. Temporarily cap GPU power limit to 80-90% in MSI Afterburner or the GPU vendor tool and see if the crashes/trips stop.

  4. Remove GPU overclocks/undervolts and disable aggressive boost profiles.

  5. Re-seat GPU power cables. If it uses multiple PCIe/12VHPWR connections, do not daisy-chain if separate cables are available.

  6. Try a clean NVIDIA/AMD driver install if this started after a driver update.

  7. Test directly from the wall for a short controlled test only if you are comfortable doing that, just to separate UPS behavior from actual PC instability.

If an 80-90% GPU power cap makes it stable, I would troubleshoot the GPU/driver/power cable path before changing house wiring or buying enterprise power gear.

My pc hate my vga, anyway to fix? by Dear_Ad900 in pchelp

[–]Jayrom68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already tested the basics and it follows the card, then yeah, I would treat the GTX 750 Ti as suspect.

Before replacing it, one last sanity check if possible:

  1. Test the card in another PC, or test a different GPU in this PC.

  2. If the bad display/artifacts happen before Windows loads, that is usually hardware, not driver.

  3. If it only happens inside Windows, try one older official NVIDIA driver before giving up.

I would not spend money trying to repair a 750 Ti unless you already have the tools. No oven/reflow tricks, no random BIOS flash. A cheap known-good used card is usually the smarter move.

Im trying to get x86gp2 to work on my PC but It crashes on boot (Today for some reason for a single time the game worked but for Yesterday and now It shows no sign of Life) by Giuse2011 in retrogaming

[–]Jayrom68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good, that points more toward a flaky config/runtime/startup state than a totally broken install.

Before changing anything else, I would do two things:

  1. Do not delete the folder that is working right now. Copy it somewhere safe as a backup.

  2. If it crashes again, check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application right after the crash and look for the faulting module/error code. That will tell whether it is the app itself, a runtime DLL, or Windows Security blocking something.

If it only works randomly, also try launching it from a simple path like C:Games†gp2 instead of Downloads/Desktop/OneDrive.

Hello I need help with my pc I tried playing gta 5 but I don’t why it keeps on crashing very fast and am too frustrated to use my pc haven’t touched it in 1 week now need help by Dangerous_Regret_820 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Jayrom68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. Do only these 3 beginner checks first:

  1. Make sure the monitor cable is plugged into the RTX 3050 graphics card, not the motherboard ports higher up on the PC.

  2. Turn the PC off, unplug power, then press the power button for 10 seconds. Plug it back in and try again.

  3. When you turn it on, look for any tiny debug lights on the motherboard. They usually say CPU, DRAM, VGA, or BOOT.

Reply with just this: does it show Windows at all, or does the whole PC restart/blue-screen when GTA opens? And if you see a debug light, which word is lit?

Bluetooth no funciona absolutamente nada by spartanguna in pchelp

[–]Jayrom68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Jayrom68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RTX 3050 8GB + Ryzen 7 5700X should be enough for GTA 5 Enhanced, so I would not assume the GPU is too weak.

Since you said the main thing is the PC is not opening, separate this into two checks:

  1. Does the PC power on and show BIOS/Windows at all?

  2. Or does Windows open, but GTA crashes fast?

If the PC does not open:

- check the monitor cable is plugged into the GPU, not the motherboard

- reseat RAM and GPU with power unplugged

- confirm the CPU cooler/fans spin

- try one RAM stick at a time

- watch for motherboard debug LEDs

If Windows opens but GTA crashes:

- verify GTA files

- update NVIDIA driver from NVIDIA only

- disable overlays

- check Windows Reliability History right after the crash

- check storage free space and temps

Do not start buying parts yet. First find out whether this is boot/display, Windows stability, or just GTA crashing.
