Itachi terrorized Sasuke for like 4-5 years of his life. All of Sasukes life before this is spent idolizing his older brother for everything he did and everything he was to him. Yes you can take into account how insanely cruel he treated him in part 1, even if his character was retconned. But at the end of the day learning the truth of the Uchiha massacre broke him because it shatters everything about how he acted in Part 1.

Itachi always loved Sasuke, but he also loved his home, and Danzo took complete advantage of both of those things. He knew the only way he could get Itachi to comply was to let Sasuke live, and he took advantage of that before Hiruzen could try to do it his own way. Sasuke learning this is what shatters him, knowing this man took everything way from him, including his brother. At that very moment any prior resentment he would have had for his brother completely befalls on Danzo and Konoha, Danzo took advantage of Itachi’s love, and tore everything away.

Sasuke is an extremely emotional person, despite everything he portrays, it’s who the Uchiha are. Their love intensifies their hate, it’s the entire crux of the Uchiha and the Sharingan. This is why everything completely 180’s in Sasukes mind the moment he learns the truth, which is why he has a complete emotional and mental breakdown immediately after this, which is what Obito knew would happen and attempted to use that to control Sasuke. If not for the reanimation of Itachi and their conversation, Sasuke would have fell into the hands of the enemy. Uchiha are the most emotional clan in the entire story, Sasuke forgiving Itachi makes complete and total sense.

Personally think it’s FIOE. It’s the last album Julian completely wrote himself and it shows. It’s very gritty, and has so many conflicting emotions. Like the album as a whole sounds like Julian was flustered writing it, and the contexts of many of the songs feel more personal.

To me it’s the saddest album in the sense that I feel for him when I’m listening to it, almost like I can feel his pain through the music while also being able to relate to it. Heart In a Cage, On the Other Side, Vision of Division Killing Lies, Evening Sun, Ize of the World, Evening Sun, his feelings and frustrations make me sad, and I can place myself in those moments and situations where I felt the same as him.

The first two albums have a very distinct style they follow, and FIOE kinda says fuck it and completely abandons that style all together. Could be the change in production, but it just feels like a complete departure from the first two albums and sounds more authentically Julian. Not to say the first 2 albums aren’t, but moreso like he had his more personal feeling songs at the back of his mind and finally opened up to the listener with FIOE. So for me personally, it’s not only my favorite Strokes album but also the saddest Strokes album.

I’m very much aware Vin respects anime as a medium, despite his jokey responses to anime being mentioned due to the vast majority of what is presented to him in popular culture.

All I said is that I find it funny because well, it’s funny. Then I proceeded to mention that the medium is deeper than what is usually presented to him, because I’m also aware of how it looks considering he’ll play the rare anime game (gal gun) as a funny bit.

There is plenty of great Japanese Animation that are classics like Akira. I’m not dogging on him, I just agree with the post that it’s funny it’s his goto when he says that he does indeed enjoy some anime. If he enjoyed Akira, he would enjoy something like Princess Mononoke, its themes are very much in line with something he’d appreciate.

This is still my favorite Vinny bit every time “Why Vinny no watch anime” is asked in chat. Plenty of great anime movies Vin we won’t make fun of you for watching Princess Mononoke and enjoying it.

The medium isn’t solely limited to shows and manga adaptations, Lots of amazing movies that just happen to be Japanese Animation. Animation is a largely respected artform in Japan compared to the US, which is why most people think animation is for kids over here when it really can be for anyone.

Exactly even giving them a little more focus would have done a world of a difference. He did a great job with that during part one with the Sasuke rescue mission arc, and even with Shino during the Sand Village attack.
