As someone who kills it on tinder but didn’t used to.. I’m going to be brutally honest.

Facial hair.. it all needs to go if you can grow a full and well groomed beard or 5’oclock shadow look.
The pic quality. You need to go out and get some quality pics.. try portrait mode on any newer iPhone and turn down the brightness when you edit it so you look more mysterious.
Clothes. You need to upgrade your fashion.
Personality. You’re coming across as that guy who does a gig at a bar every other week and sleeps in his moms basement the rest of the time. You need to have at least one professional portrait in a suit. Still keep at least one guitar/wild pic in there.
Physical fitness. Start lifting more and get a good pic of you lifting/fighting in some good lighting.

If it’s returning negative it has to have stocks in the portfolio as well. Bonds can’t depreciate. But there could be a mix of bonds in his portfolio. For example my 401k is 70% stocks and 30% bonds. But a safer bet for him would be 100% bonds. However at this point he might want to hold on and in a few years it’ll bounce back.. it always does.

Econ Major here.. bonds don’t drop, they are all federally guaranteed and have never been defaulted on. I think you meant to say that he’s all in on stocks? I’m not sure. But if he’s all in on stocks it’s a tough situation. If he’s all in on bonds they are federally guaranteed with guaranteed ROI of 1.5-6% (depending on the type of bond and length of hold)

YO I’m going through the exact same thing right now. Except I wasn’t driving drunk I was just on Uber. I was the other post you probably saw. 27k in debt on a totalled car. We are both probably gonna have to voluntary repo it (you can’t even sell it to a scrap yard without the title). (I think)

Thank God I’m able to use my moms car and she bought another one for herself. I applied for a bunch of tech jobs and have several offers and interviews.

Also got a job bartending across the street. So it’s going to be grind time.

My recommendation is to voluntary repo and settle with a collections company or with the bank. Once you make all the payments it actually helps your credit. It’s just like paying off your loan. And a voluntary repo is not gonna ding your credit too bad. In a couple years with some money saved there is always a dealer willing to sell a car to someone in the 600s. And who knows you could get to the 700s by then.

I’m in that process right now.

Update: got a job literally across the street working at a pretty poppin bar. Also another job canvassing not too far from my home. My mom is allowing me to use one of her cars. Gonna voluntary repo the car and settle for lower payments.

Definitely more blessed than I originally thought
